Daily Good: How to Lead a More Courageous Life

When confronted with fear, the brain will seek relief in the form of old coping habits if left to its own devices. However, there are things we can do to help it change course. If we set the stage for courage, our awareness of what happens to us becomes our greatest ally. “The more you interrupt the old fear-based habits and replace fear-based responses with responses to boost courage, the more you create a ‘courage habit.’ By living your life with courage, you’ll be more likely to make the changes that will lead to greater fulfillment — whether that’s embarking on a new relationship or job, or helping to save the world.” In this article from Greater Good, five tips for changes in your life that will make you aware of how you experience fear, and { read more }

EarthSky News: Watch for Lyrid meteors this week

It’s Lyrid meteor time again! The Lyrids aren’t the richest shower of the year. In a dark sky, you might see about 10 to 15 meteors per hour at the shower’s peak. But the Lyrids are always welcome, a break from the “meteor drought” that always comes in the early part of every year. In 2020, the skinny and almost-new moon won’t hinder the view. Bring on the Lyrids!

Inner Journey:

A NEW LOOK AT PROBLEMS

“The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.”
— Theodore Rubin

Our lives really begin to change when we learn to shift our perspective on ‘problems.’

From a spiritual perspective, problems offer our best path to growth. Like it or not, pain gets our attention. Discomfort also challenges the ego’s perception that it is in complete control of life. This opens the door for soul’s guidance.

If we want to be rid of the problem, we need to shift from denial and resistance to accept that this situation is present. We need to be willing to truly feel our experience to allow the energy of emotions to move through.

Finally, we need to explore what belief is giving rise to our distress. When we realize the belief is faulty, our shift in perspective resolves the problem. The solution always lies within us.

“No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”

A Note from the Universe

I don’t quite know if it’s the way your mind works, or your emotional sensitivity. I don’t know if it’s the way you laugh, or the way you cry. Could be your tenacity and courage. Or maybe it’s your wit and spontaneity. Truth is there’s never been anyone like you, so it’s hard to tell. But whatever it is, to me, from here, right now, you sure improve the view.

You are so-o-o-o beautiful.

Gratefully,

The Universe

Future
“The future… is something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.”

-C.S. Lewis (1898-1963)
C.S. Lewis had a very practical way of looking at the future. In this description, the future could be seen as the great equalizer. The truth is that the future belongs to each of us, and it is up to us how we approach it. The possibilities are endless!

Daily Tarot: The Devil

Your instincts may be heightened and a bit off today, and this could lead you to make some wrong decisions or assumptions. Then, you run the risk of pouncing on these assumptions and acting out of a bad impulse. Keep your emotions under control and back away from impulsive actions of any kind. Today they are traps that lead to embarrassment at best, and harm at worst.

  1. Thank you very much, Cat! This link “Emergence Magazine: Finnegas by Paul Kingsnorth ” is every time asking to subscribe, but I dunno how (?) Today there was a full day’s job, to read everything, and I have to go to have something to eat and then sleep. Feeling very weak still. I had some stomach -problems yesterday, and it is not much better today 💜 💜 💜
