Everyone suddenly burst out singing;
And I was filled with such delight
As prisoned birds must find in freedom
Winging wildly across the white
Orchards and dark green fields; on; on; and out of sight.

Our world has shifted and will continue to do so as all of humanity is being drawn into a time uncertainty. There is much speculation surrounding this time of extreme change and transformation. We are all feeling the intensity of this process which is greatly affecting the collective consciousness.

Daily Good: Humanity’s Wake Up Call

“The rapid spread of novel coronavirus has prompted government, business, and civil society to take dramatic action–canceling events large and small, restricting travel, and shutting down major segments of the economy on which nearly all of us depend. It is a demonstration of our ability, when the imperative is clear, for deep and rapid global cooperation and change at a previously unimaginable speed and scale.There is an obvious desire to protect ourselves and our loved ones. But we are also seeing something more as communities mobilize to address the crisis–a sense of mutual responsibility, born of a recognition that we are ultimately bound to a common fate.” David Korten shares more.{ read more }

MNN: Shinrin-yoku: A deep dive into forest bathing
Even indoor plants can have a positive effect on your mental health.

A friend from France once said the best lunch in Paris is a baguette, cheese, a bottle of wine and a park bench. She didn’t know it, but she had hit on the concept of a preventative form of nature therapy called shinrin-yoku, which was introduced half-a-world-away in Japan in 1982.

Inner Journey:

GIVING CHOICE

“Freedom of choice is more to be treasured than any possession earth can give.”
— David O. McKay

I want to choose the details of my life. Fortunately, I’ve come to appreciate how important it is to give others the freedom to choose their own paths.

None of us wants our choice robbed from us. I can’t know what’s best for anyone but me. So why give unsolicited advice to others and expect them to follow it?

“The truest characters of ignorance are vanity, and pride and arrogance.”
— Samuel Butler

“What man wants is simply independent choice, whatever that may cost and wherever it may lead.”
— Fyodor Dostoyevsky

A Note from the Universe
Invariably, when big dreams come true, and I mean BIG, there is a total metamorphosis of one’s life. Thoughts change, words change, decisions are made differently. Gratitude is tossed about like rice at a wedding. Priorities are rearranged and optimism soars. Yeah, those folks can be really annoying.

You could have guessed all of that, huh? But would you have guessed that these changes invariably come about before, not after, the big dream’s manifestation?

Woohooooooo,

Mystery
“No object is mysterious. The mystery is your eye.”

-Elizabeth Bowen, 1936
Like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is mystery. The questions we ask when we observe something are all our own. What is going on in our mind’s eye? What definition are we giving to an object? What emotion are we attaching to it? And the miracle is that we can see and perceive an object! It’s this whole process that is mysterious, and beautiful

“The word ‘March’ comes from the Roman ‘Martius’. This was originally the first month of the Roman calendar and was named after Mars, the god of war. March was the beginning of our calendar year. We changed to the ‘New Style’ or ‘Gregorian calendar in 1752, and it is only since then when we the year began on 1st January. The Anglo-Saxons called the month Hlyd monath which means Stormy month, or Hraed monath which means Rugged month. All through Lent the traditional games played are marbles and skipping. The games were stopped on the stroke of twelve noon on Good Friday, which in some places was called Marble Day or Long Rope Day. The game of marbles has been played for hundreds of years and some historians say that it might have been started by rolling eggs. In the past, round stones, hazelnuts, round balls of baked clay and even cherry stones have been used.”

EarthSky News:  Don’t miss moon and Venus before sunup

Before sunrise on March 2, 2019, look east before sunup to see the beautiful pairing of the moon and dazzling planet Venus. Good news. You don’t have to get up much before the sun to view these brilliant worlds. The moon and Venus are bright, the second-brightest and third-brightest sky objects, respectively, after the sun. In fact, people with exceptional eyesight might be able to pick up Venus near the moon after sunrise.

Patheos-Pagan: Night’s Family Tree: Nótt as Mother of the Vanir?

In my earlier post on Nótt, I talked about Her parentage and Her nature, the impressions I get from Her and the textual evidence we have. From here on out, it gets pretty speculative. This rings true with what I’ve experienced of the Vanir and have been told by Nerthus, an ancient Germanic Goddess to whom I am devoted

Inner Journey:

A NEW LOOK AT PROBLEMS

“The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.”
— Theodore Rubin

Our lives really begin to change when we learn to shift our perspective on ‘problems.’

From a spiritual perspective, problems offer our best path to growth. Like it or not, pain gets our attention. Discomfort also challenges the ego’s perception that it is in complete control of life. This opens the door for soul’s guidance.

If we want to be rid of the problem, we need to shift from denial and resistance to accept that this situation is present. We need to be willing to truly feel our experience to allow the energy of emotions to move through.

Finally, we need to explore what belief is giving rise to our distress. When we realize the belief is faulty, our shift in perspective resolves the problem. The solution always lies within us.

“No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”

Perfection

“Perfection consists not in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. Neglect nothing; the most trivial action may be performed to God.”
-Angelique Arnauld

Perfection is sometimes given a ranking – like a perfect “10” in gymnastics, or a 6.0 in a figure skating competition. But think about it. A lot of people can do a cartwheel, a lot of people can ice skate. These are not extraordinary things. But the way that they are executed in these world championships are! That’s how we can have something to aspire to. Those athletes are the role models for “perfection” in that sport. And yet, those athletes always see room for improvement in some way or another. So, in life, as we aspire to perfection in our spiritual world – we have role models, too. We’d probably give Gandhi or Mother Teresa a “10” – but, they would be the first to say that they were not perfect! Part of our spiritual growth is recognizing that there’s always more to learn.
