Wise Woman Herbal: Meeting the Soul Spirit Activities of a Burdock
by Anne-Marie Fryer Wiboltt

There is a difference between entering into an intimate relationship with the plant and utilizing plants as nourishment, or using a plant for healing purposes. When utilizing a plant like that, we gain the effect of the specific plant but its being or soul spirit activities and its qualities are not felt or sensed by us.

ThoughtCo: The Native American Sun Dance

Sun worship is a custom that has gone on nearly as long as mankind itself. In North America, the tribes of the Great Plains saw the sun as a manifestation of the Great Spirit. For centuries, the Sun Dance has been performed as a way to not only honor the sun, but also to bring the dancers visions. Traditionally, the Sun Dance was performed by young warriors

Daily Dream Meaning: Child

A symbol of innocence.
1. If you were the child, you need to get in touch with your own innocence. If you, as the child, were in trouble, you need to go beyond your innocence and acknowledge the ways of the world. Everything is NOT all sweetness and light!
2. If you were watching children playing, this is a sign of success and happiness, both in your personal and professional life.

Daily Good: Teaching & Learning from the Heart in Troubled Times

“The current moment calls for moral ferocity. We should not sleep well at night when we know others are suffering. We need to raise our voices with clarity and channel our anger into protest and resistance. Ferocity itself, though, holds danger. Let’s not forget that some of the worst perpetrators of evil have often claimed to act in the name of the good, or God, or the national interest, or a future utopia. By claiming the moral high ground, and labeling our opponents misguided, we run the risk of doing great harm in the name of good. I suggest that we balance our moral ferocity with humility and tenderness.” Rabbi Ariel Burger, an author, artist and long-time student and friend of Elie Wiesel shares more in this timely essay.{ read more }

Today’s DIY:  Kitchen Witch Makes: A Witches Ladder

In the late 1800’s in the eaves of a house in Somerset, England some strange items were discovered. They consisted of a chair, four brooms and a string of feathers. It was declared that the house had belonged to a witch as the chair was for sitting in. The brooms had been used for flying and the string of feathers was referred to as a ‘witches ladder’.

I decided I wanted to sit on the grass.
Sheltered from the sun by my car, I sat, staring at this cluster of trees.

I was grateful for this moment of reprieve from the excruciating thoughts that had been swirling around and accosting me in my head for the past few days.

EarthSky News: Moon, Venus and Taurus March 28 and 29

These next several evenings – March 28, 29 and 30, 2020 – use the waxing crescent moon and the dazzling planet Venus to locate the constellation Taurus the Bull. The moon and Venus pop out almost immediately after sunset, lighting up the western evening twilight. Given clear skies, they’ll be hard to miss, because the moon and Venus rank as the 2nd-brightest and 3rd-brightest celestial bodies, respectively, after the sun.

A Note from the Universe

In the short run, there are two types of people who live in darkness,  those who are desperate to emerge and those who are desperate to stay.

When you finally realize that part of the reason you chose this lifetime was to shine your light for the first type, you’ll stop worrying about what the second type thinks of you.

Shine your little heart out,

Greatness
“There is no greatness where simplicity, goodness and truth are absent.”

-Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910)
Is goodness a prerequisite for greatness? I think so. Greatness is different from power, from fame. It’s something that is not completely defined, but is instantly recognized. It cuts across lines of age, race and gender. We all have the potential for greatness.

You’ve had your share of fun, and now it’s time to face the consequences. You probably knew what you were doing when you did it, but now that it’s time to pay the piper, you may have serious regrets. What’s more important: maintaining a close relationship, or perusing every opportunity for passion with reckless abandon? The decision is easy.

Spiritual Unite: The Third Eye, The Pineal Gland: How We Are Connected To The Cosmos

It all comes down to the mystical Third Eye. The Third Eye is an inner visual organ and a concept in mysticism.
It refers in part to the Ajna chakra of Eastern spiritual traditions. The Third eye is said to be the gate that leads into the spaces of higher consciousness within.

ThoughtCo: Sun Worship

At Litha, the summer solstice, the sun is at its highest point in the sky. Many ancient cultures marked this date as significant, and the concept of sun worship is one nearly as old as mankind itself. In societies that were primarily agricultural, and depended on the sun for life and sustenance, it is no surprise that the sun became deified. While many people today might take the day to grill out, go to the beach, or work on their tans, for our ancestors the summer solstice was a time of great spiritual import.

Daily Deity: Native American Sun Symbols

We know that the Native Americans were deeply spiritual people who communicated their history, beliefs, and ideas through symbols found in nature. They created specific geometric depictions to describe and express these beliefs. The sun was of particular symbolic significance to all of the Native American tribes, as it is one of the natural phenomena that governs all of life. Symbols of the sun are seen in some way, shape, or form in each and every tribe, which should further demonstrate how its power was revered

Patheos-Pagan: Opening Up Your Personal Magic Circle: The Power of Vulnerability

Connecting to spirits, summoning the powers of correspondences, and petitioning deities for their help all require being open to these forces. Vulnerability is necessary when we open up that personal magic circle of ours to others, whether they are embodied or energetic. Like all types of energy, the essence of being vulnerable is neither good nor bad. It’s how we work with our anxieties about openness that determine whether it’s empowering or weakening

Inner Journey:

Give yourself free time

“What is it that makes all of us end each day with the sense that we have not lived our time, but have been lived, used by what we do?”
— Jacob Needleman

How can you free up more time for yourself?

All of the great masters counsel that we need time daily for solitude. And if our journey in life is to become more aware of who we are, then surely we need some free time each day to explore our inner landscapes and uncover our passions.

What activities can you cut out of your life to give you more growing room?

“Life is made up of moments, small pieces of glittering mica in a long, stretch of gray cement. It would be wonderful if they came to us unsummoned, but particularly in lives as busy as the ones most of us lead now, thatwon’t happen. We have to teach ourselves how to make room for them, to love them, and to live, really live.”
— Anna Quindlen

Meditation

“When one devotes oneself to meditation, mental burdens, unnecessary worries, and wandering thoughts drop off one by one; life seems to run smoothly and pleasantly.”

-Nyogen Senzaki

Through the process of meditation, of going into the silence, to that “higher place”- we get a different perspective of the world. We see the “big picture” and our place in it. We understand our connection to God, and to each other. Life runs more smoothly because we allow it to, that’s the way it is meant to be!
