Spiritual Unite: 4 Common Signs Of Spiritual Growth
Along with our spiritual journey, we will enter into periods of accelerated spiritual growth, but what are the signs that tell us that we are experiencing this progress on our spiritual journey? It’s important we know. After all, how can we know we are making progress without tangible signs?
MBG: Some Astrological Magic Is In The Air This Week. Here’s Your Horoscope
Alchemy is in the air this Monday, April 30, as we revel in the afterglow of last Sunday’s full moon in mystical Scorpio. That lunar lift may have sparked a major awakening while also revealing areas that could use a transformation. No sitting back and ruminating on Monday, though!
Tetraktys: Taoism in a Nutshell – How to Follow the Tao, or “the Way”
Taoism in a Nutshell – How to Follow the Tao, or “the Way” I’ve recently written about Buddhism and Stoicism, which have many elements in common. Following the same train of thought, I’ve decided that I would write on Taoism…
MNN: ‘Rip Van Winkle’ plants can hide underground for 20 years
Rip Van Winkle, the titular ne’er-do-well of Washington Irving’s 1819 short story, famously spent 20 years napping in a forest. This lengthy slumber, apparently triggered by ghost liquor, caused Van Winkle to sleep through the American Revolutionary War.
EarthSky News: Tonight Moon and Jupiter meet in Libra
Full moon was last night, but tonight’s moon is even closer to Jupiter. Also, Jupiter can guide you to Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali, pronounced liked Obi-Wan Kenobi of Star Wars. They are Libra’s 2 brightest stars.
Inner Journey: Accepting Reality
“…self-contempt never inspires lasting change.”
— Jane R. Hirschmann and Carol H. Munter
I can suck myself down into a deep, black hole when I focus on what I think I SHOULD be… more loving, sexy, productive, whatever. Thinking I should be something else means I’m not good enough now. This is poverty thinking and a guaranteed way to be miserable.
I can let go of this suffering by accepting WHAT IS. I can say, “This is how I am right now and that’s okay.”
When I first tried this, I could say it but not believe it. Then I began to experience the freedom this perspective brings – just by changing my mind! Now I’m beginning to believe it. What a gift!
“When we stop opposing reality, action becomes simple, fluid, kind, and fearless.”
— Byron Katie
A Note from the Universe
Do you know what they all have in common?
You know, the billions and billions who came before you, who used to live in the jungles of time and space.
Their adventure is over.
You know what else?
Given another chance, they’d take more risks. Not because they’d always succeed, but because from where they are now, the glory of knowing they at least tried far exceeds any regrets of never knowing what might have been.
Today’s Recipe: Spicy Bean Sprout Salad
This is a great side dish, goes well with rice dishes, soup, and especially fish in my opinion.

“Those friends thou hast, and their adoptions tried,
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel.” -Shakespeare
One of the greatest gifts we are given in this lifetime is the gift of friendship. Our friends are our treasures! We learn so much from each other. Think about the first friend you ever had. Remember the joy you felt just hanging out and playing together? Chances are that the friends we had in childhood are different than the friends we have today. People change and grow and move away and go on to lead separate lives. But we remember those friends, and they remember us! We learned from them then, and are where we are now in part because of those friendships.
