Very good in the grass to lie
And see the network ‘gainst the sky,
A living lace of blue and green,
And boughs that let the gold between.
-Katharine Tynan Hinkson (1861-1931)

Spiritual Unite: Press The Reset Button

If you ever sit and wonder why am I here, what is the purpose of my existence, then just step outside and watch the clouds rolling by in the sky. Notice the vastness of this world, this Universe. Although we may be in a different country, different continent, have different cultures, different languages, be of different religions or beliefs

MBG: This Simple Tweak Can Make You Happier, Less Stressed & More Productive At Work

It’s one of those perfectly breezy early summer evenings in New York, and it feels like the whole city is out celebrating. Well, the lucky ones who don’t have to work, anyway. But weave through the crowds of Madison Square Park—past the fountain and around the Shake Shack—and you’ll find a handful of people in business attire, holding meetings and brainstorms outside in the golden light.

Daily Good: Little Panic: What It Takes to Break Free from Anxiety

When anxiety takes hold of us, it distorts our experience of the world and causes turbulence in our minds, wreaking havoc on our thoughts and emotions. For someone with severe panic disorder, this can shake them to their very core. Amanda Stern poignantly expresses her experience with anxiety in her book “Little Panic: Dispatches from an Anxious Life,” which Maria Popova expertly introduces in Brainpickings. It was a sinking feeling that her experience of life is not what others experience. The difficulty in putting that into words. The realization that in some way this is what all of us experience. The relief at a diagnosis, and what it takes to break free

MNN: Striking bird photos highlight importance of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

For the past nine years, the National Audubon Society has honored photographers across North America for their intimate imagery of birds. This year, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the organization focused on images of migratory birds to highlight how the law has saved hundreds of species from extinction, dubbing 2018 “The Year of the Bird.”

EarthSky News: Heads up! It’s a month of eclipses

Patheos-Pagan: Finding Your Animal Totem

Animal Totem’s have been mentioned in history, books and the craft for a very long time but what is an animal totem and how can it aid you? The word totem means “kinship group.” It comes from the Algonquian word adoodem.

Inner Journey:

“To be tested is good. The challenged life may be the best therapist.”
— Gail Sheehy

What holds you back from being all that you are?

In your journal, list at least 5 things that hold you back.

Now review your answers. Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself?

It’s important to understand that ALL obstructions are rooted in our internal blocks. Even the problems that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back to us problems we have inside. Once we address our inner issues, the outer problems disappear.

Be personally accountable for everything in your life and watch your perspectives shift. We claim our power when we accept responsibility for our lives.

“Conscious evolution begins as we take responsibility for clearing our own obstructions.”
— Dan Millman

A Note from the Universe

Have you heard about the “Bewitching Hour”?

Actually, it’s top secret, so I’ll whisper.

Every single morning, ever since time began, before the sun even rises, the drums start beating, the choirs start singing, the energy starts rising, and every single soul who has ever lived scurries around the plane of manifestation as a chanting begins… and gets louder and louder… and goes faster and faster until… a feverish pitch is reached and the celestial skies part with a clap of thunder, revealing billions upon billions of the most beautiful angels you have ever seen. Flying down from the heavens, some with wings outstretched, others with wings pointed back. Darting, diving, banking, and rolling – some so fast they’re only a blur – while others seem to float by as if catching what remained of a midsummer night’s breeze. Every one of them a reflection of the greatest, the loveliest, and the highest I’ve ever imagined. Every one of them a messenger of hope, and peace, and joy; healers and teachers, comforters and creators. And every one of them about to greet a brand-new day in time and space with a morning yawn, sleepy eyes, and the power to ROCK THE WORLD.

This is the “Bewitching Hour.” Shhhh…

And if you listen real hard, you can you still hear the drums.

Hosanna in the highest,

The Universe

Today’s Recipe: Chilled Yogurt Soup

Packed with fresh vegetables, nuts, raisins and yogurt, this is one of my all time favourite summertime soups. It’s so refreshing in the hot weather, and cheap and easy to make. It’s originally a Persian recipe called “Ab Doogh Khiar” but it’s easier to just say “Chilled Yogurt Soup.” 😉 Enjoy!

“Nothing recalls the past like music.” -Madame de Stael, Corinne (1807)

We’ve all had that experience of driving around in the car, flipping around the radio stations, when a certain song comes on that takes us back to our junior year in high school, the dance, the gym, our “crush” at the time. Music has a way of doing that. It creeps into our memory and imprints itself onto our psyche. When we hear a familiar song again, we can repeat the lyrics, even if has been years since we last heard it play. That’s one reason why couples have “their song” – to remember the romance and take themselves back to the time when they were falling in love.
