Some gaudy prince has stayed here overnight:
For look, the roadside gleams in splendor bright
With gold-embroidered plumes that decked his train,
While stars of purple amethyst, like rain,
Have fallen from his robes.
-James Berry Bensel (1856-86)

Spiritual Unite:  Sending Healing Energy – Easy To Follow Steps For All

Sending healing energy is one thing that everybody is capable of doing.
You don’t need specialized training, a lifetime of spiritual experience, or an expert mentor to unlock this power.

Patheos: Kitchen Witchery: Old Ways & New Magic

There’s a common phrase you’ll hear around almost every Pagan water cooler. It goes something like “I practice the old ways”. As it turns out, much of what we think are the “old ways” are really pretty new ways in the scheme of things. One way to step into a different time and practice a slower magic, is to get yourself in the kitchen.

ThoughtCo: What is the Great Rite? And What is Ritual Sex?

At some point during your studies of modern Paganism, you’ll probably run across references to ritual sex, including – but certainly not limited to – the Great Rite. It’s important to clarify what these are because you’re most likely encountering statements that most Wiccans and Pagans don’t really have sex in their rituals. So, what’s the deal with ritual sex?

Elephant Journal: A Light-Filled Message for everyone who feels Broken Down & Worthless.

Dear Sweet, Beautiful Little Darling,

Welcome to this world.
You are a ray of sunshine transmitted into a human body—with a human mind and human thoughts and human feelings. Without these forms, this matter of mind and body, you—Little Ray of Light—could not exist on this earth.

MNN: Canada creates two huge ocean sanctuaries in the Arctic

These are turbulent times for the Arctic. Not only is it heating up about twice as quickly as the rest of the planet, causing a disastrous decline of Arctic sea ice, but it’s also increasingly vulnerable to environmental harm from activities like mining, drilling and fishing.
In hopes of buffering a swath of the Arctic from this upheaval, Canada is creating two new marine sanctuaries in the Arctic Ocean spanning a total of 427,000 square kilometers (165,000 square miles).

EarthSky News: Moon, Antares, Jupiter from August 7 to 9

The chart above shows the path of the moon on August 7, 8 and 9, 2019, in front of the rather faint constellation Libra the Scales and then on to brighter Scorpius the Scorpion. First quarter moon comes on August 7, when you’ll see half the moon’s day side, what some call a half moon.

Patheos-Pagan: Harvest Reflections

Happy Lammas, everyone!
Lammas is one name for the harvest festival at the beginning of August. In one version of the Wheel of the Year, it is the first harvest, the grain harvest, and will be followed by two more harvest festivals, Mabon, the fruit harvest, and Samhain, the meat harvest.

Inner Journey:

“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.”
— Decouvertes

“The man who has no imagination has no wings.”
— Muhammad Ali

Imagination is a tool of the soul. Our imagination gives us the opportunity to ‘try on’ new qualities and perspectives in our life. Through imagination, we can explore our past, problems, patterns, processes, plans, perceptions, principles, passions andpurpose to uncover new possibilities.

Without imagination, we stay stuck in the realm of the material, the past, the superficial and the literal. We remain one-tracked, instinctual and one-dimensional.

Our imagination comes from the soul, subconscious and senses. Only through our imagination can we become multidimensional, experience more love, create more beauty, manifest more results, change our conditions, rewrite the past, and connect with divinity, purpose and others.

“You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?'”
— George Bernard Shaw

“Reason can answer questions, but imagination has to ask them.”
— Ralph Gerard

A Note from the Universe

What if every shortcoming, slip, or bobble you noticed in another person was choreographed by divine intelligence to be delivered at exactly the right time, as a cleverly veiled invitation for you to wonder, ask, and think about how you might increase your own awesomeness?
Yeah, that’s how I roll –

Today’s Recipe: Vegan Butter

So clearly I’m going through a phase of experimenting with vegan or plant-based cooking, and I wanted to share. There are many reasons why someone might not want to eat dairy, or butter – everything from doctor’s orders, taste to lifestyle commitment. As such it is good to have a recipe for a great alternative, especially if on top of that you want to stay away from canola oil, soybean oil, etc.

Today’s Deity:  Ceres
Ceres was the Roman goddess of agriculture, grain, and the love a mother bears for her child. She was the daughter of Saturn and Ops, the sister of Jupiter, and the mother of Proserpine. Ceres was a kind and benevolent goddess to the Romans and they had a common expression, “fit for Ceres,” which meant splendid.

Daily Wisdom

“The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.”

-Montaigne (1533-1592)

Independence could also be called self-reliance, or self-sufficiency. We must know that we are each whole and complete. We can count on ourselves, we belong to ourselves.

-Lissa Coffey

Daily Tarot: Justice

You have great force of will today and it could be easy to push around someone less driven than you. Try to do things right the first time so there’s less “clean-up” tomorrow, when people may be less forgiving or understanding. Do what’s important first, rather than what is easiest or the most fun. You can do that some other time but today it won’t work.
