The sun’s away,
And the bird estranged;
The wind has dropped,
And the sky’s deranged;
Summer has stopped.
-Robert Browning (1812-89)

Individuologist: What Is A Spiritual Vortex

Have you ever been on a trip and suddenly felt those goosebumps? For instance, if you’ve visited the Yosemite Valley, you’ll know what I mean. The moment you cross that tunnel and see the wonder of nature, suddenly a strong feeling gets into you. Witnessing mother nature’s creation, you are at awe. The beauty of the landscape itself is already enough to place you in a state of wonder.

ThoughtCo: Autumn Full Moon Ritual for Groups

In addition to (or sometimes instead of) holding a monthly Esbat rite, some Wiccan and Pagan groups prefer to have a season-specific full moon ceremony. The traditional autumn season includes September’s Harvest Moon and the Blood Moon of October, and wraps up with the Mourning Moon of November.

MBG: Colorful Visualizations To Help You Work Through Anxious Moments

As an acupuncturist and clairvoyant, I’ve worked with tens of thousands of beautiful souls over the years. One thing that connects many of them, regardless of background, income, fortune, fame, family, health, or career? Stress, overwhelm, and anxiety. I’ve found visualization to be one effective way to deal with this near-universal feeling.

Daily Good: Wild Mind: Reclaiming Our Original Wholeness

Our human psyches possess, as capacities, a variety of astonishing resources about which mainstream Western psychology has little to say. By uncovering and reclaiming these innate resources, shared by all of us by simple virtue of our human nature, we can more easily understand and resolve our intrapsychic and interpersonal difficulties as they arise. These resources, the four facets of the Self, or the four dimensions of our human wholeness, wait within us, but we might not even know they exist until we discover how to access them, cultivate their powers, and integrate them into our everyday lives. There’s a facet of the Self associated with each of the four cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west. Describing the Self in this way is in keeping with traditions around the world that have mapped human nature onto the template of the four directions (and the closely related templates of the four seasons and the four times of day: sunrise, noon, sunset, and midnight). { read more }

Be The Change

Consider which of the four facets of Self calls for cultivation in your life. Do one thing this week to support and nurture this side of your universal soul.

Pagan Library: Strings On The Winds by Taliesyn map Avaon

And it came to pass that into this time of great turmoil, there came a man clad simply and carrying unto himself little else than a harp, the likes of which I have yet to see. His name was Ahrian and he made known that he was Bard. He went unto the house of a village elder, asked lodging, and was granted it. There he stayed and he sang from the green and played the songs which drifted into the air as if they were the air itself.

Natural Living Ideas: How To Grow Ginger & Epic Ways To Use It

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is an amazing spice with a plethora of therapeutic benefits mostly due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger plants can grow up to three feet high and produce 2-5 sections of ginger. One of the oldest medicinal foods, ginger originated in Southeast Asia. It has been part of Chinese and Indian healing practices for a very, very long time.

EarthSky News: Watch for a young moon after sunset

For a number of intrepid sky watchers, the hunt for the young moon counts as great sport. Seeking out a young moon that might – or might not – fleetingly show itself as a pale, skinny crescent in the western evening twilight demands fortitude and patience.

Patheos-Pagan: Spells, Rituals, and Practices: What’s The Difference?

I often hear new witches talk about the spells and rituals they performed for simple acts of magic, such as a two-card tarot reading ritual. Whenever I hear things like that, I get confused. Why would they go to all the work of creating ritual space and cast a spell just to pull two cards?

Inner Journey:

“I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.”
— Rita Mae Brown

Where do you need to think for yourself?

When we begin to cultivate awareness of our thoughts and emotions, we begin to see just how much we live according to other people’s and society’s beliefs and actions. Don’t get upset by this. Just get in touch with how you really think and feel inside and begin to express your authenticity.

“Once in a while it really hits people that they don’t have to experience the world in the way they have been told to.”
— Alan Keightley

A Note from the Universe

Do you know what the former-living celebrate the most when they consider their earlier times in space?

Not homes bought, cars driven, mountains climbed, or islands hopped, but fears faced, hearts mended, faith restored, and love bared.

Today’s Recipe: Refreshing Strawberry Cake

It’s the end of summer and the strawberries are at there peak. So to celebrate, I wanted to make a dessert that was quick and used as a cool fridge dessert. This can be made ahead and will last a week in your fridge. To make this dessert faster and cost friendly, I used a box cake mix.

Daily Wisdom
October 2, 2019

“Above all we need, particularly as children, the reassuring presence of a visible community, an intimate group that enfolds us with understanding and love, and that becomes an object of our spontaneous loyalty, as a criterion and point of reference for the rest of the human race.”

-Lewis Mumford (1895-1990)

It helps us to know, from an early age, that we’re not in this alone. We crave that love and support from other human beings. This is how we learn about people, and how we learn about ourselves.

-Lissa Coffey

Daily Tarot: The Hermit

It might be a busy day, but try to make some time for yourself. Any time you spend meditating or settling your mind will be time well spent. It doesn’t have to be spent sitting around and being idle all day. Staring pensively into that cup of tea for a few moments can be equally beneficial. Calm your mind, and your heart, and make it an at-peace day.
