EarthSky News: Moon, Venus at dawn June 17, 18, 19

In the predawn/dawn sky these next few mornings – June 17 and 18, 2020 – look first for the slender waning crescent moon. The moon’s illuminated side will be pointing right at the planet Venus, which rises over horizon as the morning darkness is giving way to dawn. On June 19, look for the old, slender moon to be quite close to Venus on the sky’s dome.

Patheos-Pagan: 8 Things to do for Summer Solstice as a Solitary Pagan

Many Pagans are solitary practitioners, either by choice or by necessity. But a lot of Pagan activities for the Summer Solstice are designed for large groups. In 2014 and 2015 I wrote a series of rituals for those working alone on the Wheel of the Year. Every year they’re near the top of the list of most popular posts – here’s the Summer Solstice ritual.

Pagan Playlist: Damh The Bard – Antlered crown and standing stone

Inner Journey:

“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.”
— Decouvertes

“The man who has no imagination has no wings.”
— Muhammad Ali

Imagination is a tool of the soul. Our imagination gives us the opportunity to ‘try on’ new qualities and perspectives in our life. Through imagination, we can explore our past, problems, patterns, processes, plans, perceptions, principles, passions and purpose to uncover new possibilities.

Without imagination, we stay stuck in the realm of the material, the past, the superficial and the literal. We remain one-tracked, instinctual and one-dimensional.

Our imagination comes from the soul, subconscious and senses. Only through our imagination can we become multidimensional, experience more love, create more beauty, manifest more results, change our conditions, rewrite the past, and connect with divinity, purpose and others.

“You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?'”
— George Bernard Shaw

“Reason can answer questions, but imagination has to ask them.”
— Ralph Gerard

A Note from the Universe

All right the reservation’s been made and a Beechcraft 400A private jet with experienced staff, advanced multimedia hookups for every passenger, and faux-leopard-skin sleeper recliners throughout, will be yours for any twenty-one days you choose. Just as soon as you arrange payment of US$368,750. In advance.

Fuel, of course, will be extra. A lot extra.

Now, repeat after me:

“You have to be joking!
Faux leopard skin is so ‘early 2000.’
What else do they have?”

Cool. Now stay with this perspective, because this kind of transaction takes place every single day for those who already have.

Your co-pilot,

The Universe

Daily Wisdom
June 17, 2020

“Though all men be made of one metal, yet they be not cast all in one mold.”

-John Lyly (1554?-1606)

I’ve always heard this “broke the mold” quote and now I know where it came from! Yes, we’re all made up of the same “stuff”: bones, water, muscle tissue, etc. But each one of us is completely and totally unique and individual. Our looks contribute to our individuality, but mostly it’s our character, our values, our interests, our ideas, and our opinions – the “intangible stuff” that “defines” who we are. We are creating our lives, and our individuality, every day.

-Lissa Coffey

Daily Tarot: The Pope

Save those creative, foot-loose and fancy-free activities for another day and focus on the nuts and bolts. If you’ve been putting off doing something necessary but not fun, knock it out now and then feel accomplished when finished. You can earn a lot of regard and admiration for this. You won’t be allowed to keep too low a profile, so just step up and do what’s important for today. You should encounter no resistance
