EarthSky News: Use Big Dipper To Find Polaris In September

The northern sky is like a large celestial clock, with Polaris at its center. In other words, the entire northern sky wheels in a great circle throughout the night (although it’s wheeling in a counter-clockwise direction). But the northern star Polaris stays still (or nearly so).

Inner Journey:

“The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving.”
— Oliver Wendell Holmes

We are all on a life-long journey. It is a search for who we are and why we are here. It is a journey that expands our consciousness.

There is an urge within each of us to move forward in life. It is an urge to become more whole, to find more meaning, and eventually to help others. It is human nature to strive for a sense of well-being.

We all go through the same growth cycles, though our experiences may appear entirely different. By understanding the process of personal and spiritual growth, we can work more effectively with the process, instead of fighting and resisting it.

“We can learn to be the catalysts for our own change.”
— Sarah Ban Breathnach

Daily Wisdom
September 1, 2021

“Silence is one of the great arts of conversation.”

-Hannah Moore

There are times when we feel those “awkward pauses,” when we want to fill up the empty space with words. But then there are those beautiful times when we are comfortable just sitting and being with another person, when silence adds to our experience. In Japanese watercolors, it is said that the strokes that are painted are just as important as the spaces that are left blank. The overall work is simple, elegant, and meaningful.

-Lissa Coffey

Daily Tarot: Justice

You may be dealing with people who feel inferior or weaker than you, so take care to not run over anyone. Equally, they do not have to serve as an excuse for you to go slower or do less than you know is necessary. Be firm but not too firm, determined but not too determined. Get a lot of good work done
