November Quotes

“Over the river and through the woods
Trot fast my dapple gray.
Spring over the ground
Like a hunting hound
On this Thanksgiving Day, Hey!
Over the river and through the woods
Now Grandmother’s face I spy.
Hurrah for the fun,
Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie.”

  • English folksong, It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

A sorrowful day, for it could be his last,

A much-anticipated comet – C/2021 A1 (Leonard) – is brightening and might become 2021’s brightest comet by year’s end. Astronomer Greg Leonard discovered the comet as 2021 began. Inner Journey:

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
— Lao Tzu

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance.

We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

“It matters not Who you love, Where you love, Why you love, When you love, Or how you love, It matters only that you love.”
— John Lennon

“Why not go out on a limb? Isn’t that where the fruit is?”
— Frank Scully

Daily Wisdom
November 24, 2021

“Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.”

-Gladys Browyn Stern

We know that it is good manners to write thank you notes, and yet it always seems to be a chore. Instead, focus on how the person receiving the note feels to receive your gratitude. It’s not enough to appreciate someone; we need to express it. We need to declare it, and shout it out sometimes!

-Lissa Coffey

Daily Tarot: The Hermit

Right and wrong are important, yes, but today equally or more important could be doing what helps the most or alleviates the most pain or difficulty for someone or something. It could be as simple as feeding a stray cat, but it could be much more complicated, especially if it involves someone you care deeply for. Try to see things clearly and don’t overreact about anything.
