Daily Good: What Is Your Hearth of Hearths?
“Where–or what–is your hearth of hearths? Where is the place you feel most alive or connected? What is the thing that reminds you who you are and to what (or whom) you belong? In all the world, what do you call home? These are some of the questions that Annick Smith and Susan O’Connor pondered as they edited Hearth: A Global Conversation on Identity, Community, and Place. In the preface, they describe how the “idea for a book about hearth started on the rim of the Kilauea Volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island” when author, revered elder, and teacher Pualani Kanahele–who describes her hearth as the volcano–asked others to consider their own hearths: “Invite guests to your home,” she said, “and over a generous offering of food ask them where their hearth is.”” { read more }

Individalogist: A Guide to Spiritual Dreams: Everything You Need To Know
The dream state is often a topic that is shrouded with much intrigue and mystery. As we are able to experience things in a realistic manner, the dream state seems to be an avenue where anything can come true.
However, most of the time, we don’t really have that much control over our dreams.

Elephant Journal: 8 Things Trees can teach us about the Art of Transformation in Autumn.
The first hint of autumn comes when my coworkers start buying pumpkin-spice lattes.
Usually that same week, I have to start dodging falling acorns on my strolls under urban oaks to avoid a concussion.

MNN: This forest language from the age of Vikings may soon disappear
Elfdalian is spoken by less than 2,500 people in Swedish town.
In a remote part of Sweden surrounded by mountains, valleys and thick forests, the community of Älvdalen is desperately attempting to preserve its unique heritage.
Up until the mid-20th century, the town of some 1,800 inhabitants spoke a language called Elfdalian, believed to be the closest descendant of Old Norse, the language of the Vikings.

Inner Journey:
LABELS LIMIT US
“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.”
— Lao Tzu
How do you label yourself? How do you label others?
Be aware that any label is limiting. Labels stick us in a box where there’s no room to move. Today, experience how it feels to let go of the labels to rest in ‘I am.’ Feel the freedom, the spaciousness, the infinite potential of simply being.
“As long as I am this or that, I am not all things.”
— Meister Eckhart
“Your only limitations are those you set up in your mind, or permit others to set up for you.”
— Og Mandino

A Note from the Universe
You chose to be who you now are, you came here to thrive, the odds always seem steep, still, the game is rigged in your favor, you knew what you were doing, your demons aren’t real, fear was part of the deal, love is all you need, you’re never alone, thoughts become things… and you still look absolutely amazing in jeans.

Today’s Recipe: Butternut Squash with Macintosh Apples
I just love winter squash. I like it a bit sweet, but do not like having to sweeten it with so much sugar. I thought maybe I could cook apples with it and sweeten it naturally. This is so good, you will love it and you will have the kids eating their veggies like never before!

Persistence
“Drop upon drop collected will make a river. Rivers upon rivers collected will make a sea.”
-Sa’Di (A.D. 1213? – 1292)
We’ve been doing WisdomNews for a few years now. It has been a great source of joy for me. When we first started out, there were just a few of us involved, and we basically started the list with our family and friends’ addresses. But we persisted, did a little advertising, whatever we could do inexpensively, and the list grew – drop by drop, person by person – we’ve got a little river going now – or at least a steady stream! Thank you for subscribing, and for contributing to this e-mail community. Someday we hope to be a sea – and we will keep writing and keep persisting because we love doing this! And thanks for sharing this with your friends because every drop counts!

Daily Tarot: The Chariot
It may start out as an ordinary day but a situation may arise that uncovers talents that you had no clue you had. Be adaptable and be willing to say, “Yes, I’ll give that a try,” rather than automatically saying, “Well I’m not sure. I’ve never done that before.” Be positive, optimistic, and sure of yourself. It’s the perfect day to learn something useful and profitable as well as exciting.
