Daily Good: All Cats Are Black

Don’t allow your wounds to transform you into someone you are not.

  • Paulo Coelho –

All Cats Are Black

“My biggest regret is that I wasn’t born beautiful– there, I’ve said it.”Jenny Jackson delivers these words with captivating candor in this poignant, short film by Green Renaissance. Lacking the experience of warmth and kindness in childhood, Jackson grew into a person she barely recognized. In her forties three words on a sandwich board brought a moment of self-reckoning that ripened over slow years. In her mid-sixties she began to deeply explore all the parts of her life that she had not truly dealt with.”If you live long enough, you will experience great hurt. What you make of that is up to you. It can be beautiful or it can be ugly.” Discover the gift of Jackson’s resilient spirit, her wisdom, humor and art here. { read more }

EarthSky News: Moon, Mars in Taurus Mar 18, 19 and 20

These next several evenings – March 18, 19 and 20, 2021 – watch the waning crescent moon as it travels in front of the constellation Taurus the Bull. As the moon goes eastward through the Bull, it’ll pass to the south of the Pleiades star cluster on March 18 (as viewed from North America). Roughly a day later, the moon will then swing in between the ruddy star Aldebaran and the red planet Mars. Aldebaran, which is a bit brighter than Mars, is the brightest star to light up the constellation Taurus.

Pagan Playlist: Shawn James – One I Love (Traditional Irish folk song) – Live at the Caves of Cushendun

“Reflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success.”
— Richard Carlson

Regularly, take time to reflect on what has been happening in your life. Step back to work ON your life instead of IN it. See yourself as the C.E.O. of your own personal company, or as the captain of your own ship. Are you navigating the waves as well asyou might?

Stepping back helps us see a bigger, more inclusive picture. Small events make more sense in the bigger scheme of things.

“Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action.”
— James Levin

Daily Wisdom
March 17, 2021

“I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do.”

-Willa Cather, O Pioneers! (1913)

Trees are patient. They are resilient. They don’t try to be something they’re not. They don’t get jealous of faster growing varieties. They bloom where they are planted, and make the best of it. They don’t make any demands. There is a children’s book called “The Giving Tree” which really explains generosity. Freddy got this book from his aunt when he was little and it was always one of his favorites. We can learn a lot from trees

Daily Tarot: The High Priestess

Let intuition be your guide today and you won’t go too far wrong. If something doesn’t need to be done or delivered instantly, take your time and let events, situations, and people claim the time and attention they seem to want. Things want to sort themselves out for you, in the best ways. Don’t introduce complications. Be decisive when necessary but otherwise step up, too, and be pleasantly surprised.
