High noon in August! over all the land
The very air is palpitant with heat;
While stretching far, the fields of ripening wheat
Unrippled lie as plains of yellow sand!
–Henry Sylvester Cornell (1831–86)

Spiritual Unite: What Does The Colour Green Mean Spiritually?

Colour is a vital part of life as a human being. Since the dawn of time, we have taken clues from the colours of the world and used them to enhance our lives. The colour green is one of the most commonly used colours regarding symbolism.

MBG: 6 Key Steps To Building Your Own Empowering Support Group

As a society, it feels like we’re the loneliest we’ve ever been. That’s not much of an exaggeration, by the way: One recent study found that nearly half of all Americans sometimes or always feel alone, and one in four rarely or never feel like there’s anyone around them who really understands them. To make matters even sadder, these feelings of alienation were higher among millennials and Gen Z, meaning younger generations are growing up feeling even more isolated than those before them

Elephant Journal: Making Tibetan Tea, the Easy Way. {Recipe}

Tibetan tea is an “acquired” taste, but once acquired, it can be as addicting as coffee.
In short, Tibetan tea, often called “butter tea,” is a salty, buttery, milky, black tea mix.
It served Tibetans well in their cold climate, but is by no means not well-suited for warm climates—as long as you are not calorie or cholesterol-conscious.

MNN: Adorable baby pygmy hippopotamus born at Toronto Zoo

Watch out, Fiona! There’s a cute new baby hippo in North America, and she’s coming for your social media likes.
A female pygmy hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis) calf was born at the Toronto Zoo on Aug. 10. The zoo announced her birth this week.

This was the first surviving calf for Kindia, a 12-year-old female, and the seventh pygmy hippopotamus born in the zoo’s history.

EarthSky News: This week, watch for a morning moon

Tonight – August 27, 2018 – the moon is in a waning gibbous phase. August 26 was the full moon, and a full moon rises at the vicinity of sunset and sets around the time of sunrise. So, for the mainland United States, the August 27th moon rises in the east roughly an hour after sunset. That means you can catch the daytime moon over your western horizon after sunrise. Woot!

Patheos-Pagan: Shields up! Shielding Hints and Tips…

Recently I have been seeing a lot of people on social media asking about psychic protection and shielding. And quite worryingly a few that have made statements along the lines of “I am always picking up on the energy from others. I find it totally draining but I have just accepted that is the way I am”. No, no, no! Please don’t put up with it, there really is no need.

Inner Journey:

“I want to know the thoughts of God; the rest are details.”
— Albert Einstein

Everything — absolutely everything — that happens in our lives has a spiritual cause. Mental, emotional and physical events are only effects.

When we are struggling with any challenge, whether it be ill health, a lack of money, a lost job, relationships, an accident, whatever — we need to look for the spiritual learning. We can ask ourselves, “What quality does my soul want me to live more fully?”

“I went to the root of things, and found nothing but Him alone.”
— Mira Bai

Spirit Library: The Dragon and the Rose – The Mirror of Life – Mother Mary

This channeling came about from a curious experience. I was in a time of much writing, so most of the time I was sitting on my couch. One day I was outside (a rare moment off the couch!) and I heard a loud noise. The mirror above my couch had cracked and the crack looked like a flame, which I thought was just a cool coincidence of how glass would naturally crack.

Today’s Recipe: Grilled Watermelon

If you haven’t tried grilled watermelon yet, I beg you, please try it! It turns the common granular, sweet and juicy melon into some bizarre sweet and savoury, firm, meat-like treat that is beyond words. The great thing is, it’s so incredibly cheap and easy to do! This is the simple-as-can be method, but you could try using different spices if you’d like. I urge you to try this on its own, though, so you can experience this incredible texture. If you don’t have a grill, you could even bake it.

Charge of the Goddess

History and Variations

Charge of the Goddess is perhaps one of the best-known pieces of ritual poetry in today’s magical community, and is often credited to author and priestess Doreen Valiente. The charge itself is a promise, made by the Goddess to her followers, that she will guide them, teach them, and lead them when they need her the most.

However, before Valiente, there were earlier variants, dating back at least as far as Charles Leland’s Aradia: Gospel of the Witches.

Beliefnet: 5 Ways to Overcome Any Disappointment

Since hopes and dreams are part of life then it shouldn’t come as a surprise that disappointment often accompanies those idealisms. Even though it may sting or cause emotions to stir, it’s important not to allow disappointment to take over your entirety. Instead of reasoning why something didn’t work out the way you anticipated, look for ways you can better your life because of a short coming. Every journey is full of road blocks and obstacles but it’s not impossible to move past them and persevere within challenges that arise.
