As we step towards the Solstice, an intensely powerful energy is moving within us pushing us towards expansion both internally and externally. The incoming energies are demanding urging us to see our life with perfect clarity and to find the light despite the challenges we still face. How we think, how we feel and how we react to life is transforming changing our perception and giving us a different view of what is now possible.

CREATE HAPPINESS RIGHT NOW

“It is our basic right to be a happy person, happy family, and eventually a happy world. That should be our goal.”
— Dalai Lama

Little adjustments to our attitude and approach each day can create a major difference in our appreciation of life. On the surface, nothing changes. At the same time, absolutely everything does.

Use your awareness or your imagination to bring happiness to this moment. Find something to appreciate. Do this as often as you remember to do so, and your world will transform.

” … we can no longer afford to throw away even one ‘unimportant’ day by not noticing the wonder of it all. We have to be willing to discover and then appreciate the authentic moments of happiness available to all ofus every day.”

Collaboration
“When two people are writing the same book, each believes he gets all the worries and only half the royalties.”

-Agatha Christie (1955)

I think this pretty much applies in any business! And pretty much at times in any relationship. What we’re looking for is balance. Very rarely is the division of labor split 50/50. Life just doesn’t work like that. Sometimes in one area it’s 80/20, or in another it’s 40/60. It is important that we contribute to the best of our ability at any given time. Overall, a successful collaboration is where all of the parties involved can look at a finished project and say that they would do it again.

Celebrating the solstice can be deep, sacred, and generate connection.
My true understanding, love, and appreciation for rituals started during my time spent living in the Andes mountains of Ecuador with a shaman and his family.

Their entire house was infused with natural light. Large windows without screens lined the exterior walls, and there were skylights across the ceiling of the wide hallway and in all the bedrooms.

Inner Journey:

CONNECT WITH THE LIFE FORCE

“The spirit down here in man and the spirit up there in the sun, in reality are only one spirit, and there is no other one.”
— The Upanishads

We regard our lives as made up of an infinite number of separate bits and pieces. That is how our senses perceive our universe.

But science has now affirmed what the sages always knew. The life force is the foundation of all, unseen and untouched though it may be. It flows through everyone and everything. It is impossible to exist separate and apart from the source of all creation.

“Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade, But do not be disheartened, The source theycome from is eternal, growing, Branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why do you weep? The source is within you And this whole world is springing up from it.”

Comfort

“I simply cannot understand the passion that some people have for making themselves thoroughly uncomfortable and then boasting about it afterwards.”
-Patricia Moyes, 1961

This passion seems to be particularly prevalent today – you can see it on “Survivor” and “Fear Factor” and shows like that. So what’s the spiritual message here? I guess we could look at it several different ways – but let’s choose one: When we challenge ourselves, and break outside of our comfort zone, we discover things about ourselves and reap rewards!
