with bales to the barn, then back to the waiting
chopped field. It trails a feather of smoke.

Spiritual Unite: False Twin Flame vs True Twin Flame

Before our twin flame enters our life, we meet our false twin flame. The purpose of our false twin flame is to do the final preparations before we are ready to meet our true twin flame. Mostly, it’s a dry run for the real thing.

MBG: This 3-Minute Acupressure Routine Will Help Clear Your Brain Fog — Stat

Ever felt like you’re moving underwater? Or maybe just your brain is? It can hit you in the middle of the day, after the morning coffee has worn off and your lunch is happily sitting in your stomach—productivity slows and brain fog rolls in.

Did You Know?

Using Trees for Navigation:

For those who know their tree facts, navigation becomes a much easier task. Moss grows on the shadier side of a tree trunk, so in northern climates, you’ll know the side with the most moss is the north side. And if you find a tree stump, even better. Tree rings do more than reveal a tree’s age − in the northern hemisphere, the growth rings are slightly thicker on the southern side, since this is the part of the tree which receives the most light. In the southern hemisphere, the opposite will be true, so expect moss on the southern side and thicker rings on the northern while in southern climes.

Tetraktys: Occult Symbols in Witchcraft, Alchemy and Sacred Geometry – What They Actually Mean

Samhain is coming. Our modern-day Halloween, a celebration of all-things spooky based on this old Celtic celebration of Samhain, surely has little to do with its original counterpart (although if you’ve been following my wife’s special newsletter, you now probably know that some traditions have survived the test of time, such as the apple bobbing game).

Elephant Journal: This Halloween, Forget Trick-or-Treating—Dance with the Dead Instead.

Halloween—meaning holy evening—has a rich and fascinating history, going back thousands of years.
All Hallows’ Eve has become a modern mishmash of old pagan and younger Christian traditions. In many parts of the world, the festival is also known as Day of the Dead—a fusion of pre-Columbian, African, and Christian observances and rituals, a three-day event that actually just gets started on October 31st.

EarthSky News: Halloween ghost of the summer sun

Every Halloween – and a few days before and after – the brilliant star Arcturus, brightest star in Bootes the Herdsman, sets at the same time and on the same spot on the west-northwest horizon as the summer sun. This star rises at the same time and at the same place on the east-northeast horizon as the summer sun. That’s why – every year at this time – you can consider Arcturus as a ghost of the summer sun.

Inner Journey:

“Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility.”
— Sigmund Freud

In his book Nobody’s Victim, Christopher J. McCullough explains, “In order to live your freedom, you must first accept reality. ‘These are the choices, and given those choices, which do I choose?’ Whether the option you select is pleasant or painful does not alter the fact that, given reality, this is your preference.

“To live your freedom, it is helpful to stop and ask yourself, ‘Why am I doing this?’ and then notice whether, given the options, you are choosing what you really want, or whether you want to choose something else…. Sometimes the exercise of freedom involves naming your poison — all choices may lead to outcomes that are in some way painful. But the real pain is that of feeling powerless — denying your freedom.”

“Freedom is man’s capacity to take a hand in his own development. It is our capacity to mold ourselves.”
— Dr. Rollo May

A Note from the Universe

There’s only one reason I can think of that an infinitely powerful, all-knowing, fun-loving, eternal gladiator of the Universe would ever choose to be born into a little human body, with stub-able toes, adrift in time, immersed in space, cloaked in mystery:

There’d have to be much more to what was going on than mere mortal eyes could behold, and it would have to be really, really, really, really, really beautiful.

And it so is.

You’ll “see,”

Today’s Recipe: Mozambique Peri Peri Chicken

This spicy citrus-toned chicken is a favourite in South African regions, but derived from the Portuguese. I had some at a Mozambique restaurant many moons ago and missed it so much, I had to learn how to make it. Any kind of side dish goes well with this: rice, potatoes, bread, you name it.

Daily Wisdom

“Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment.” -Lao-tzu

There are so many things to learn in this life. We spend years in school studying algebra and history, science and literature. All of this is fascinating, and helps us to grow. And yet, when you know yourself, you know everything. It all becomes so simple. We can see the connections, we can feel the balance of it all. Garner wisdom from books and teachings, and also, look within.
