Spirit Library: Hope in a Dying World (a message from Kate Spreckley)
As we stand at this point in humanity’s evolution we are collectively purging the shadows that have dominated our world for too long. In doing so we are able to bring into balance the two prevailing forces of creation – the feminine and the masculine.

BLACKBERRY SYRUP
Put ripe berries into a large pot and mash very gently with a potato masher. Add water to barely cover the berries, and cook over low heat until the steam rises and they start to give up their juice. Remove from heat and strain to remove seeds.
Measure ½ cup of white sugar or mild-flavored honey (such as clover) for each cup of Blackberry juice, mix together the sweetening and juice, and reheat slowly only until sweetening is dissolved. Try not to let the juice or syrup boil, since this tends to destroy the appealing fresh-berry flavor. Keep syrup refrigerated in jars. (It may also be frozen, and keeps very well both ways.)

ThoughtCo: Mother Goddesses
When Margaret Murray wrote her ground-breaking God of the Witches in 1931, scholars quickly dismissed her theory of a universal, pre-Christian cult of witches who worshiped a singular mother goddess. However, she wasn’t completely off-base. Many early societies had a mother-like godform, and honored the sacred feminine with their ritual, art and legends.

EarthSky News: Moon, Mars rendezvous in early October
In early October 2020, the waning gibbous moon meets with the dazzling red planet Mars. On October 2, look for the glorious evening couple – the moon and Mars – to rise in tandem in your eastern sky around nightfall or early evening. After the brilliant twosome rises, they’ll be out for the rest of the night, traveling westward across the nighttime sky. The moon and Mars climb highest up for the night after midnight, and then sit low in the west as dawn starts to color the October 3.

Patheos-Pagan: They Can’t Take October From Me
October is my favorite month.
Has it always been my favorite month? I think so.
December – with Christmas and Christmas Break – was pretty important when I was a kid. But by October the farm work and grass cutting were done for the year.

Inner Journey: Look for the gifts
“In school you get the lesson and then take the test… In life you take the test and then get the lesson.”
— Unknown Source
How is a problem in your life really an opportunity?
Problems invite us to go inside to recognize a bigger picture of ourselves and of life. This bigger picture brings meaning to what is unfolding.
When you feel trapped in a problem, see if you can shift your perspective. Ask yourself, “What am I being invited to learn from this situation?” The answer will always revolve around a quality or value, like gratitude, freedom, compassion, love, will, humouror acceptance. The answer will also always promote union rather than separation.
As soon as we find the meaning in our challenge, our resistance to it melts away. Often, awareness of the lesson is all that is needed to resolve the problem. If not, the awareness brings us courage and ways to work through it.
“The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life.”

Self-Awareness
“As simple as it sounds, we must try to be the best person we can: by making the best choices, by making the most of the talents we’ve been given.”
-Mary Lou Retton
It’s these simple things that we need to remember. And if we can remember them every day, and apply them to our lives, then we thrive! We do know what the best choices are for us. We do know what our talents are. When we are self-aware it is natural for us to proceed keeping these things in mind

Daily Tarot: The Wheel of Fortune
You may have made careful plans or scheduled everything to perfection, but there are too many variables today to allow most of your plans to play out. Things may come up, one after another, and make this a scattered day. This is temporary and probably will have little impact on tomorrow, so just flow with it best you can and don’t let the instability bother you
