EarthSky News: See the young moon on February 12, 13 and 14

You might – or might not – catch the youngest and the slenderest of young moons, with either the eye alone or binoculars, after sunset February 12, 2021. Find an unobstructed horizon in the direction of sunset and look low in the west as evening dusk is ebbing toward nightfall. If you miss the young moon on February 12, try the next several evenings, February 13 to 15, for example. Day by the day, a wider waxing crescent moon will be higher up in the west at sunset, and will stay out longer after sundown.

“Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.”
— Don Marquis

Most of us struggle with procrastination — the ‘I’ll do it later’ syndrome. If this is one of your key time wasters, take time to become more aware of your behaviour.
•Identify what you are procrastinating.
•Identify why you have not done these things. Seek out your deepest reason.
•Is there a fear underlying your reason? There is for most people.

We typically procrastinate because of unclear goals, lack of information and/or skills, fear of moving into new territory, fear of failure or success, feeling overwhelmed, lack of time due to over-commitments, poor timing, and general disorganization.

“Much of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they started.”
— David Allen

A Note from the Universe

Whoohoo! The script for the most amazing time in your life is nearing perfection! We’re so excited and happy for you. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.

It’s complete with friends and laughter, wealth and abundance, health and harmony. And best of all, there are going to be some really neat surprises. BIG surprises! Really HUGE, Texas style.

And you’re gonna say, “B-bu… but… I… I… I… H-Ho… How? Never in all my life have I imagined such outrageousness! All my expectations have been exceeded! Never have I dreamed of being so blessed!” And we’re gonna say, “Oh, yes you did.”

And you’re gonna say, “Oh, no I didn’t.”

And we’ll say, “Did.”

And you’ll say, “Didn’t.”

And then we’ll remind you of those occasions when you simply saw yourself happy. Visualizing euphoric happiness, bypassing the details. Smiling from ear to ear in your mind’s eye, pumping your fist, dialing your friends’ cell-phone numbers with shaking fingers, happy tears running down your face, when you left all of the “hows” to the Universe.

And you’re gonna say, “Oh.”

And we’re gonna say, through tears of our own, “Nice hows, huh?”

“A watermelon that breaks open by itself tastes better than one cut with a knife.”

-Hualing Nieh, 1981

We can have the best teachers in the world. We can read the most amazing books. We can climb a mountain in Tibet and be blessed by a guru. But when we finally “get it” – it’s because we did it. No one can grow for us, no one can learn for us. Life, and its pace, are self-determined. We will get there of our own accord.

Daily Tarot: The World

Embrace now as a joyful day. At the start, look in the mirror and see the joy that’s already in your eyes. Work with contentment, spend quality time with friends and family, and share your love of life with every stranger you meet. You don’t have to be overbearing and surprise people with your happiness. What you truly feel will shine on its own. The little things may bring you the most joy.
