Inner Journey:

REVIEW AND RECOMMIT

“Few people have any next, they live from hand to mouth without a plan, and are always at the end of their line.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Just think: When we are driving, we know where we want to go and we plot out our route. When we plan and prepare a meal, we follow a recipe and monitor the food as it cooks.

How much attention do we give to planning the direction of our lives?

Taking the time to review our quality of life gives us a chance to re-evaluate what we are doing and where we want to go. It lets us fine-tune our direction, to ensure we are on track for what we most want.

Stop and think about your last 6 months. What did you learn? What would you like to do differently? Where do you want to recommit?

“Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.”
— A. A. Milne

“Always have a plan, and believe in it. Nothing happens by accident.”

Excellence
“When we do the best that we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another.”

-Helen Keller (1914)

Excellence is difficult to measure. In the Olympics there is a judging system of points and scores to compare the athlete’s performances. But when it comes to our day to day lives, excellence for each one of us is doing the best that we can do. We know when we’re slacking off. We know when we can do better. We’re the only ones who can make that judgment accurately. And when we do strive for excellence, when we put ourselves out there and really give it our all, we know it, we can feel it.

Inner Journey: PROCRASTINATION

“Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.”
— Don Marquis

Most of us struggle with procrastination — the ‘I’ll do it later’ syndrome. If this is one of your key time wasters, take time to become more aware of your behaviour.
•Identify what you are procrastinating.
•Identify why you have not done these things. Seek out your deepest reason.
•Is there a fear underlying your reason? There is for most people.

We typically procrastinate because of unclear goals, lack of information and/or skills, fear of moving into new territory, fear of failure or success, feeling overwhelmed, lack of time due to over-commitments, poor timing, and general disorganization.

“Much of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they started.”

A Note from the Universe

Whoohoo! The script for the most amazing time in your life is nearing perfection! We’re so excited and happy for you. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.

It’s complete with friends and laughter, wealth and abundance, health and harmony. And best of all, there are going to be some really neat surprises. BIG surprises! Really HUGE, Texas style.

And you’re gonna say, “B-bu… but… I… I… I… H-Ho… How? Never in all my life have I imagined such outrageousness! All my expectations have been exceeded! Never have I dreamed of being so blessed!” And we’re gonna say, “Oh, yes you did.”

And you’re gonna say, “Oh, no I didn’t.”

And we’ll say, “Did.”

And you’ll say, “Didn’t.”

And then we’ll remind you of those occasions when you simply saw yourself happy. Visualizing euphoric happiness, bypassing the details. Smiling from ear to ear in your mind’s eye, pumping your fist, dialing your friends’ cell-phone numbers with shaking fingers, happy tears running down your face, when you left all of the “hows” to the Universe.

And you’re gonna say, “Oh.”

And we’re gonna say, through tears of our own, “Nice hows, huh?”

“Action!”

Inner Journey: SPIRITUAL PATHWAYS

“In any way that men love me in that same way they find my love: for many are the paths of men, but they all in the end come to me.”
— Song of God, Bhagavad Gita

Spirit – the life force – exists in everything. It follows, then, that ANY path, any encounter is spiritual if we have the awareness to see it as such. Going deeper, going higher, emptying, connecting, believing or disbelieving, bouncing off the bottom, experiencing the heights, in pain, in ecstasy ….

Too often, we search afar for our own purpose when it is in our lives all the time, waiting for us to express it more openly. Bring greater awareness to each encounter and situation in life. Tune in to what you are inspired to do, who you are inspired tobe. Your answers are waiting for you to pay attention – every moment!

A Bountiful Moment:

Born into greatness conditioned into mediocrity ~Unknown

Daily Thought

Every one of us is great. There are no exceptions to this rule. Expectations, criticisms, or judgements of others change who you think you are. Believing that you are not good enough, or that you cannot do things is a sign that past judgements are embedded in your memory. Change then becomes based in a self-deficit instead of the truth. You are already great and you have everything you need to accomplish what you want.

Daily Practice

Work from a position of power today. Embrace the knowledge that you are already as great as you need to be and that your decision to achieve a goal is a choice not a need. Work from a place of choosing the next step in your journey not responding to what others are or have dictated to you.

Have a Great Day and Believe in Yourself!

DO YOU LOVE YOURSELF?

“At the heart of personality is the need to feel a sense of being lovable without having to qualify for that acceptance.”
— Dr. Paul Tournier

How do you see yourself as unlovable?

Take a few minutes to write down why you perceive yourself to be unlovable. Look at the list and see if you can identify where those characterizations originated. Can you pinpoint old messages from parents, teachers, and friends that led you to negative conclusions about yourself? Are those messages valid today?

The beliefs we adopt as children usually don’t hold when we view them objectively as adults. Can you let them go? Can you begin to see yourself as a unique expression of life, a genuine gift to the world?

Intelligence

“Intelligence alone, without wisdom and empathy for suffering, is hollow.”-John G. Stoessinger
