When the smallest breeze

When I get overwhelmed by the number of tasks on my to- do list, I remind myself that the only way to get anywhere is step by step. And I cover the most distance in the journey of my life when I take a moment to decide which step will bring the greatestrewards.

Earth
“The most important fact about Spaceship Earth: An instruction book didn’t come with it.”

-R. Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983)

This beautiful blue planet of ours seems like a sports car fresh off the dealership floor. But sports cars, and spaceships, are lifeless. They only move when we put in the gas and push the pedal. The Earth is a living, vital, organism. Rather than taking care of it as we would a car, giving it a wash and an oil change every once in awhile, we need to treat it more like a person. Every living creature has needs – and since Earth provides for our needs, we need to provide for the Earth’s needs.

It may not be anything big, so don’t completely abandon your agenda unless you must. It could just be a day of endless interruptions. Keep that sense of humor handy, and maybe find an inspiring idea or two in it all.
