Spring sunshine and brilliant blue skies are the order of the day as I stare out the kitchen window waiting for the kettle to finish boiling water for tea. Already, the six-room house I had installed for feathered guests up on the hill is a kaleidoscope of fluttering wings as a host of sparrows move in and prepare their nests. It’s a delight to witness nature’s allegiance to new life.

Each week, join author and energy healer Natasha Levinger as she reads the communal energy to predict what’s in store for us in the days ahead.
When I deliver the energy every week and see that it isn’t the cheeriest, sometimes I feel compelled to sugarcoat it. I want to say, “But wait! It’s OK—look over there!

EarthSky News: Use the Big Dipper to find the Little Dipper

The Big Dipper can lead you to Polaris and the Little Dipper

The Big Dipper – also called the Plough – is easy. You’ll find it high in the north on April evenings. Notice it has two parts: a handle and a bowl. The two outer stars in the Big Dipper’s bowl are sometimes called the pointers. They point toward Polaris, the North Star. Polaris is at the end of the Little Dipper’s handle.

Inner Journey:

THERE’S LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS

“Each difficult moment has the potential to open my eyes and open my heart.”
— Myla Kabat-Zinn

“Even the most daring and accomplished people have undergone tremendous difficulty. In fact, the more successful they became, the more they attributed their success to the lessons learned during their most difficult times.Adversity is our teacher. When we view adversity as a guide towards greater inner growth, we will then learn to accept the wisdom our soul came into this life to learn.”
— Barbara Rose

“No matter what difficulty you are facing, it is coming from Divine Light to bring you to a higher place within. Write down every conceivable reason that this situation can contribute towards your growth. Write down everyway this experience can possibly set the stage for serving to uplift others. When you are complete, and have come to the other side of this experience, you will then know ‘why’ it happened.”
— Barbara Rose

“The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life.”
— Dalai Lama

A Note from the Universe

When I survey life’s majesty: the birds, the bees, and the African Tulip trees…

And when I survey life’s characters: the Abdullas, the Lilis, and the Kaylas…

And when I consider life’s tribulations: the setbacks, the losses, the fear…

And when I consider life’s abundance, its glories, its order…

And when I… actually, I could go on forever… literally.

Do you know what shocks me the very most, Cat?

How real it all seems.

Whoa…

Kindness
“Ask thyself, daily, to how many ill-minded persons thou hast shown a kind disposition.”

-Marcus Antonius

Therein lies the challenge! Sure, we can be kind to children and animals. We can be kind when someone is kind to us. But to maintain our centeredness and be kind in spite of conflict, animosity, anger – ah, there’s our real opportunity for spiritual growth!

Daily Tarot: The Wheel of Fortune

You may have made careful plans or scheduled everything to perfection, but there are too many variables today to allow most of your plans to play out. Things may come up, one after another, and make this a scattered day. This is temporary and probably will have little impact on tomorrow, so just flow with it best you can and don’t let the instability bother you.
