Dogs can teach us so many wonderful things. They are the essence of unconditional love and their loyalty is beyond question. They invite us to get out and get moving, to learn new things and investigate things that “smell” interesting. Dogs can also teach us about intuition. We often ignore that little feeling or voice that says something is off. But a dog always listens to that especially if something or someone doesn’t feel right. Embrace the happy go lucky energy of the dog spirit today and see what new things you can dig up!
Sea turtles are amazing creatures. If they could talk just imagine the stories they could tell us. Look into the eyes of this gentle creature and you can see an ages old wisdom. He reminds us to take things slowly and that patience is the key to attaining our goals. Self reliance is also a lesson from the sea turtle. We don’t not need others to be our guide and the truth is that we have the necessary skills to navigate the currents of our lives. Like people cactus comes in many shapes and sizes and all are interesting. Cactus is about balance. They take care of themselves by doling out their inner resources in a slow steady manner. The cactus also teaches us about boundaries. The spines on the cactus provide a protective personal bubble. This is a valuable lesson which for humans is learned through trial and error. By not maintaining our boundaries we inevitably allow others to take over and give away too much of ourselves. Healthy boundaries however create stability and encourage personal growth. Think about the importance of boundaries today. Create some if you need to or strengthen the existing ones. It’s all about balance!
I love sunflowers, they are bright and happy! If you pay attention to them you will see that they lift their faces to the sun and follow it across the sky as if they are watching it. Sunflowers are considered good luck and symbolize light, hope and peace. Stand tall today and feel the sun upon your face and remember that each of us is capable of spreading happiness even with the simplest of things!
This week our quotes will consist of advice from nature. We can learn a lot about ourselves by observing the natural world.
The ocean is truly magical. The sound, the feel, the smell all awaken something deep inside us. As we stand in the surf we can feel her pull within the deepest primal recesses of our being. Mother Ocean invokes a myriad of feelings and emotions. As a mother she creates and nurtures life. She teaches us about strength, beauty, life, and death. She shows us how to go with the flow and how to move with life’s tides. Let the music of the ocean sooth your heart and spirit. Hear her song…..
Let’s end the week with a reminder about Gratitude and Tiny Miracles. We often forget to to be grateful for the tiny miracles that fill our lives. We push them aside because we allow ourselves to be sidetracked by something big and shiny. By fixating on the big and shiny we miss out on the small things that really matter. Shift your perspective today and embrace the tiny miracles with gratitude.
Being happy and living with a joyous heart is a choice. When we are happy we are able to see our lives through the eyes of gratitude. The Tiny Miracles mean more and our One Good Thing becomes Lot’s of Good Things. What will you focus on today?
A reminder today about being yourself. The only image we need to maintain is the one that embodies our true self. The true self that proudly says ” Hey! This is me, warts and all and I’m ok with that”! The only one you need to impress is yourself.
Just a reminder today of the importance of face to face communication. Technology is great but it is no substitute for a good conversation. It is through conversation that we can effectively share our thoughts and feelings. By seeing the other person and hearing their voice it creates a foundation from which real relationships are built. Don’t hide behind your phone or social media. If someone is important to you reach out in person.
