With constant motion as the moments guide,
Behold in running life the rolling tide!
For none can stem by art, or stop by power
The flowing ocean, or the fleeing hour.

BG: Female Friendship Has Never Been More Important. Here’s How To Find Your Girl Gang

Earlier this month, world-famous feminist and journalist Gloria Steinem said, “I’ve never seen this much activism in my life. It’s way, way more than anything I’ve ever seen.” And that’s saying a lot: At age 84, Steinem was a leader of the feminist movement in the late ’60s and early ’70s and the co-founder of Ms. magazine.

Elephant Journal: A Little note to the Ooey Gooey Earthy Crunchy Spiritual Bums

We all have a place in our hearts for new age spirituality, let’s not lie.
Look—the crystals are kind of cool. Mercury always seems to be in retrograde. My horoscope is always pinpoint accurate. I can astral project my way to Pluto anytime I want. My vision board will iron out the details of my future. If I’m having problems in my love life, I can always get a Tarot reading and find out my spirit animal to show me the way. If all else fails, I can just talk about energy with an affected tone of voice. Spirituality is easy!

MNN: Learn something new every day: Here’s how

It’s good for your brain, and your soul, to learn new things.

If your life feels like the movie “Groundhog Day” — every day just a repeat of the last — then there’s a simple solution.

Change things up by learning something new.

EarthSky News: Top tips for poison ivy

It feels like summer! Outdoor activities are in full swing, with kids going off to summer camp and adults hiking and mountain biking their way through the weekends. The trees are green. The flowers are blooming. Isn’t it glorious? Yet we mustn’t get too giddy in our outdoor merriment, lest we forget that there are dangers too. Because there in the woods, in the park, in your lawn even, lurks a trio of villains as bent on destruction as the three alien outlaws from Superman II. I’m speaking, of course, of poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac – three devious plants just itching for the chance to ruin your summer outings.

Patheos-Pagan: The Cauldron – A Perfect Container For My Magic.

All around my house you’ll find cauldrons. I have a large replica of the Gundestrup Cauldron on top of one prominent altar. There’s a collection of mini cauldrons nestled on the wood burning stove. I have cauldrons filled with beans for sorting. Another with drops of Awen (okay, they are gold coloured marbles but they are Awen to me) and two in my office that I work magic with each morning.

Inner Journey:

“Nothing can add more power to your life than concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets.”
— Nido Qubein

The 80/20 rule says that on a list of 10 tasks, only 2 of those tasks will return 80% of the value of the entire list. Look at your ‘to do’ list for today. Which tasks are directly related to what you most want in life? Find the 2 high value items on your list and tackle them first. These tasks are the ones that really move us forward.

Many of us actively avoid the top 2 priorities because they are more challenging than the rest. If they are to lead us to worthy goals, they are undoubtedly asking us to move into new territory in thinking and acting, and this can be scary. But this is also REWARDING!

“Don’t kid yourself: it’s because you’re doing all those C’s (low priorities) and NOT because you haven’t any time, that you don’t get to do your A’s.”
— Alan Lakein

The present

“On Arturo Toscanini’s eightieth birthday, someone asked his son, Walter, what his father ranked as his most important achievement. The son replied, “For him there can be no such thing. Whatever he happens to be doing at the moment is the biggest thing in his life – whether it is conducting a symphony or peeling an orange.” -Ardis Whitman

When we live in present moment awareness we’re living with heightened senses. We’re awake to the many miracles all around us, all the time. We can find joy in peeling an orange: filling our nostrils with the sweet and tangy fragrance, feasting our eyes on the brilliant fiery color, coating our fingers with the sticky and succulent juice. The orange is a gift, and we are blessed. When we are grateful, we are in the moment, and life is good!
