1. A kite flying freely and easily in clear skies indicates the attainment of your highest dreams, whether you were the one flying the kite or were simply observing.
2. If the kite string breaks, or the wind stops dead and the kite crashes to the ground, be prepared for everything you hope for to fall through at the last minute. To find how to avoid this, look to the other symbols in the dream.

Befriend yourself

“Self-contempt never inspires lasting change.”
— Jane R. Hirschmann & Carol H. Munter

The journey to know ourselves ideally brings us to self-understanding and acceptance. It is NOT a quest for self-improvement.

When we open to love and accept ourselves, no matter what, we allow our innate love, power and wisdom to emerge naturally.

A Note from the Universe

There comes a time in every life, when the valiant choice is made to take a courageous stand for oneself, in spite of consequences, against those who have behaved irresponsibly. And this is good.

Sometime afterwards, it ultimately dawns on all, however, that what they might be most concerned with are their own responsibilities. And this is trebly good.

Immortality
“Be the first to say something obvious and achieve immortality.”

-Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach (1830-1916)

I had to smile when I read this quote! It’s so funny because it rings true! There are universal truths in life – certain things that are said over and over again – and maybe the first person who makes the statement gets the credit for it, and the others are left to quote this person. But knowledge and wisdom is available to all of us – whether we read it in a book, or obtain it through meditation. Probably everything that needs to have been said, has been said already – but by saying it again, in a different way, time, or place, someone hears it for the first time. Truth resonates. Truth is immortal no matter who says it

Can you easily see the moon phases from where you live?
Sometimes I envy those prairie dwellers with big skies. I live among a series of small mountains and buildings which obstruct the view of the moon, and then there’s clouds and fog, because of my elevation. Inner Journey:

BIG MIND, LITTLE MIND

“It is the mind that makes one wise or ignorant, bound or emancipated.”
— Sri Ramakrishna
Zen distinguishes big mind from small mind. Big mind identifies with its process, is impersonal and participates universally. Big mind is unlimited possibilities, deeper understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, insight, connectedness, attention.
Small mind is self centred and focuses only on itself. It is compulsive, limited, reactive and mechanical. Small mind feeds on itself — fear reacts to fear, judgment reacts to judgment, anger sparks more anger.
Always seek higher perspectives and you will in time find freedom.
“If a pickpocket meets a Holy Man, he will see only his pockets.”
— Hari Dass
“Minds are like parachutes; they work best when open.”

Courage

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”

-Anais Nin (1903-1977)

The amount of courage that we have depends on the way that we see ourselves. Remember the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz? He went to see the Wizard because he did not like being cowardly – he wanted the Wizard to give him courage. And yet, just by setting out on the journey, taking that step forward into the unfamiliar, took a great deal of courage! And all along the way, the lion was put into situations where he could demonstrate his courage – and he did, without even realizing it! It takes until the end of the story for the lion to see that his courage was with him all the time. And with that discovery, his life expanded.

Inner Journey:

WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT?

“What we see depends mainly on what we look for.”
— Sir John Lubbock

Throughout the day, continually ask yourself about your underlying motivation. Why are you doing what you are doing?

Is it for selfish, manipulative or fearful reasons? Is it for honest service with integrity? Maybe you’ll discover you don’t know. Perhaps you will see that much of your activity lacks purpose.

This is a great way to become more conscious. Your intention and motives are fundamental to the results you will receive. Set high intentions and your life will blossom.

“The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving.”
— Oliver Wendell Holmes
