ThoughtCo: Create a Food Altar for Mabon

In most Pagan traditions, Mabon, the autumn equinox, is a celebration of the second harvest season. It’s a time when we’re gathering the bounty of the fields, the orchards and the gardens, and bringing it in for storage.

“Why do you love the moon so?”
She asked, peering at me over her glasses, sipping coffee from one of those mugs that allow you to hug them with your whole hands.
“The moon connects me to the gentle flow of life, to the remembrance of my own cycles, physical and emotional, to staying mindful of the fact that I am nature.

MNN: Drought reveals ‘Spanish Stonehenge’
Dolmen of Guadalperal are thought to be at least 4,000 years old.

It all depends on the water level.
If there’s been plenty of rain, there’s nothing out of the ordinary to be seen in the Valdecañas Reservoir in the province of Cáceres, Spain. But as conditions start to dry up, the peaks of granite stones begin to emerge. These make up the remains of a megalithic monument called the Dolmen of Guadalperal, also known as the Spanish Stonehenge.

EarthSky News: Harvest Moon on Friday the 13th

These next several nights – September 12, 13 and 14, 2019 – look for a full-looking moon to light up the nighttime sky from dusk till dawn. Depending on where you live worldwide, this upcoming full moon will fall on Friday, September 13, or Saturday, September 14. For the Northern Hemisphere, this September full moon counts as the closest full moon to the September autumn equinox, so it’s the Northern Hemisphere’s full Harvest Moon

Inner Journey:

YOU KNOW THE WAY

“Woe to the man whose heart has not learned while young to hope, to love … and to put its trust in life.”
— Joseph Conrad

How deeply do you trust your own guidance?

Always trust that you know what’s best for you. To move forward in your life, gather information from the “experts,” consider how their advice relates to your situation and then act only on what feels right for you. You are the only expert for your own life.

“I trust so much in the power of the heart and the soul; I know that the answer to what we need to do next is in our own hearts. All we have to do is listen, then take that one step further and trust what we hear. We will be taught what we need to learn.”
— Melody Beattie

“I never know what the next lesson is going to be, because we’re not supposed to know; we’re supposed to trust ourselves to discover it.”
— Melody Beattie

A Note from the Universe

When you dream at night can’t anything happen next? Are you limited by what you dreamt the night before? Aren’t you the creator-manifestor-genius behind every bell, whistle, and sparrow?

Same for the dream of here and now.

Destiny

“Destiny’s bank is inexorable, all accounts must balance.”

-Dorothy Fuldheim, A Thousand Friends (1974)

How do accounts balance? It’s simple – what you put into it you get out of it. It’s just like the law of cause and effect. It’s a principle of nature – and that’s just the way it is. In Eastern philosophy, the accounts may not necessarily balance in one lifetime, but over many lifetimes. It’s looking at that big picture again. Life may not seem “fair” at one particular time – but it generally is when you look back over the long run.

Daily Tarot: Wheel of Fortune

Restlessness and boredom could slow you down and take you off on some unintended tangent. If you can’t break free of the usual routine today, do what’s necessary and perhaps schedule more delicate tasks for another time when it will be easier to be precise and attend to details. Know your own limits and if possible don’t take on something that will only frustrate you. If you must, start slow.

Spiritual Unite: The Mirror Effect Of An Empath

We have all experienced it, being around someone who has either taken an instant dislike to us, or a bizarre resentment suddenly appears in those we have known for some time.
There may be no clear reason for this change in their behaviour. No matter whether they try to hide their feelings or not, an Empath can sense their loathing and it does not feel good!

Today’s Deity: Oshun, African Goddess of Love and Sweet Waters

Across many ancient civilizations throughout the world, love was placed under the domain of a certain deity, usually, but not in all cases, a goddess. In the Classical world, for instance, there were Venus and Aphrodite, love goddesses of the Roman and Greek pantheons respectively. In the ancient Near East, love was personified in such goddesses as Ishtar and Astarte. Further afield in West Africa, the Yoruba people believe in a love goddess by the name of Oshun

Inner Journey:

SMART QUESTIONS TO KEEP HANDY

“Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.”
— Anthony Robbins

Last time, we talked about questions to avoid. Today, let’s consider some that are truly empowering:
• Is there a message for me in this experience?
• What’s the gift in this situation?
• What can I learn from this?
• What’s the most loving thing I could do now?
• What’s the most important thing for me to focus on now?
• What would I do if I knew I could not fail?
• What would I do if there were nothing to fear?

“A prudent question is one-half of wisdom.”
— Francis Bacon

A Note from the Universe

Dreams come true, that’s what they do. The only variable is when.

For the slow approach: Resist. Attach. Insist. Deny. Stop. Second guess. Whine. Argue. Defend. Protest. Cry. Struggle. And ask others, when you know the answer yourself.

For the quick approach: Visualize. Pretend. Prepare. Dodge. Roll. Serpentine. Do not waver over intentions, but over methods. Show up, even when nothing happens. And give thanks in advance.
You knew that,

The Universe

Today’s Recipe: Crispy Tuna Cheese Puffs

These little crispy pockets of tuna and cream cheese are an excellent appetizer or side to a meal. I came up with them because I adore crab rangoons, but don’t always have those ingredients handy. I always have tuna and cream cheese around! These can be pan fried or baked. I’ve added both methods in this recipe.

Body

“We should conduct ourselves not as if we ought to live for the body, but as if we could not live without it.”

-Seneca the Younger (5? BC – AD 65)

There is a kind of mindfulness that we need to observe when taking care of the body. We need to exercise, but not overdo. We need to eat properly, but not too much. This is a precious package that is ours to take care of. And when we take care of the body, it takes care of us. We all have this in common. We may look so different on the outside – different shapes, sizes, colors, ages, whatever. But on the inside- it’s all the same basic equipment. What makes us “tick” is all the same “stuff.”
