Elephant Journal: A Simple act of Self Care that can help you Start Fresh each Day
Maybe you’ve been there too: in a moment where frustration seems to come out of nowhere and has you yelling at your cat while her golden eyes just stare back with a “what the…” kind of look.
Well, I’ve been having those days lately.

MNN: Humans are merely visitors at this conservation oasis in Florida
About 30 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida, hundreds of imperiled animals wander an internationally known 17,000-acre facility. Although well-known in conservation and animal circles, sprawling White Oak Conservation somehow isn’t on the general radar

EarthSky News: Earliest sunrises before summer solstice
At mid-northern latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere, the earliest sunrises of the year happen around mid-June, despite the fact that the summer solstice – the year’s longest day – is still about a week away. And if you live at middle latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere, the earliest sunsets take place around now, even though the winter solstice – the year’s shortest day – isn’t for another week.

Patheos-Pagan: Dropping Expectations: What Polytheists & Pagans Need To Relearn About Religion
I’m one of the luckier ones; I not only have been a polytheist for most of my life, but I was neither raised in a Christian household nor with any particular religion whatsoever. It’s not that I feel that Christianity is bad–I certainly harbor no ill feelings towards it.

Inner Journey:
HARD WORK
“Work should be in order to live. We don’t live in order to work. That shift in awareness is necessary.”
— Matthew Fox
What are your beliefs around work? Do you believe it’s necessary to work hard to earn a living? No pain, no gain? Do you believe women’s work is never done? That play is a waste of time?
While there are merits to the work ethic, over-work takes a serious toll on the quality of our lives. Our ability to contribute to life requires us to have a sense of balance, joy, playfulness, time to stop and smell the flowers.
“Learning to let go of the ways we inadvertently and unconsciously contribute to our own pain is the key to finding radiant physical and emotional health.”
— Ingrid Bacci
“To do great work a man must be very idle as well as very industrious.”
— Samuel Butler
“The true object of all human life is play.”
— G.K. Chesterton

Today’s Recipe: Stuffed Grape Leaves (Dolmeh)
When I was younger, one of the reasons I adored long road trips was because my mum would make these awesome portable stuffed grape leaves to eat as we travelled. These delicious finger foods are filled with protein and make a great meal. They’re awesome for lunchbox meals and picnics. These keep well for several days in the fridge.

Humor
“I think laughter may be a form of courage… As humans we sometimes stand tall and look into the sun and laugh, and I think we are never more brave than when we do that.” -Linda Ellerbee
We can rise above all of our problems. We are bigger than any of them anyway! When things get rough, we have a choice – we can be devastated and beat down, or we can face it head-on and say:”Okay, here we go again. I can take it. I can learn from this. I am growing and I can handle this!” Having a good sense of humor gets us through a lot. It’s just a different way of looking at things, one that recognizes the power that we have over our problems, not the other way around!
