Spiritual Unite: The 11 Types of Lightworkers Which One Are You?

While you may feel called to serve and care for those around you, the term Lightworker may be one you hesitate to fully connect with. This term may bring to mind overly new age individuals, preaching their views of spirituality to large audiences, saving large crowds of people with a single inspirational talk.

MBG: Weekly Horoscope: Time For All Of Us To Unleash Our Inner Activists
On Monday, Mars moves into Aquarius and calls on us to unite in the name of progress and idealism.

“A house divided cannot stand,” Abraham Lincoln reminded us nearly 160 years ago. This Monday, September 10, heroic Mars returns to the 16th president’s sign, making the call to “come together” louder and more urgent.

Daily Good: You Are Me and I Am You

The idea that we are one unified whole on this planet is a growing awareness across the globe. This awareness is made palpable and even aided by one of the positive aspects of the internet; that is, the ability to share events, feelings and consciousness at the same time on a worldwide level. Pierre Pradervand is a writer and social justice activist who is dedicated to helping others live in this truth that we are all connected. Though we may feel overwhelmed by the difficulties in the world, he wants to help people know that when we work together, we can create a more loving and just society. By creating love in our own lives, we can thereby affect the world on a universal scale. As Pradervand says in this article, “Every single progress we make, we make for the whole world – because you are me and I am you.”

Tetrakyts: Life Goals – Why You Need Them in Order to Be Happy and How to Find Yours
I don’t know about you, but I’m under the impression that a lot of people around me are quite unhappy. My wife and I are far from rich and we have to face difficulties from time to time. But still, we consider ourselves happy and we are always under the impression that the future is bright for us and our future children.

EarthSky News: Will you catch the young moon on September 10?

For some sky watchers, it’s great sport to try to catch a young moon that might – or might not – fleetingly show itself as a pale, skinny crescent in the western evening twilight. The chances of catching the young moon after sunset on September 10, 2018, vary greatly around the globe.

Patheos-Pagan: Fluffy Bunny Witchcraft is Good

Fluffy bunny Witchcraft is a good thing. I’m of the mindset that anything that brings someone to Witchcraft or Paganism is great. The more fluffy bunny practices are appealing to folks that are newer to the path, who may not have had a chance to try out many things or meet other people. And even if someone has been practicing Witchcraft for years, why should anyone care how they practice?

Inner Journey:

VALUE JUST BEING

“To do great work a man must be very idle as well as very industrious.”
— Samuel Butler

Many of us have been taught to believe that we are valued for what we do, not just for who we are. ‘Doing’ is important, but to keep life in balance, we also need time to just ‘be.’

Henry David Thoreau expressed this so well in Walden Pond:

“There were times when I could not afford to sacrifice the bloom of the present moment to any work, whether of the head or hand.

“Sometimes, on a summer morning, I sat in my sunny doorway from sunrise till noon, rapt in a revery, amidst the pines and hickories and sumacs, in undisturbed solitude and stillness, while the birds sang around or flitted noiseless through the house, until by the sun falling in at my west window, or the noise of some traveller’s wagon on the distant highway, I was reminded of the lapse of time.

“I grew in those seasons like corn in the night, and they were far better than any work of the hands would have been.”

A Note from the Universe

What if you’re already doing everything right, even though you’re not sure?

And the surprises along the way have only sped things up, even though it felt like they slowed you down?

And all that you want is now barreling toward you, even though you can’t see it?

And when it arrives it’ll exceed your every expectation, even though your dreams were huge?

Wouldn’t you be making some really weird noises about now? Whoohoo’ing, howling… maybe even whoohoo-howl-barking?

Well?

Awareness

“Sometimes I think we’re all tightrope walkers suspended on a wire two thousand feet in the air, and so long as we never look down we’re okay, but some of us lose momentum and look down for a second and are never quite the same again: we know.”

-Dorothy Gilman, The Tightrope Walker, 1979

We are always growing and evolving, and we can never go back to where we were once we’ve grown past it. We’ve glimpsed the realm of spirit, we know the peace and joy in our hearts, and we want more of it, every day. It is ours! To experience, and to express… be aware of this wondrous gift!

MNN: ‘Rip Van Winkle’ plants can hide underground for 20 years

Rip Van Winkle, the titular ne’er-do-well of Washington Irving’s 1819 short story, famously spent 20 years napping in a forest. This lengthy slumber, apparently triggered by ghost liquor, caused Van Winkle to sleep through the American Revolutionary War.

Inner Journey: Accepting Reality

“…self-contempt never inspires lasting change.”
— Jane R. Hirschmann and Carol H. Munter

I can suck myself down into a deep, black hole when I focus on what I think I SHOULD be… more loving, sexy, productive, whatever. Thinking I should be something else means I’m not good enough now. This is poverty thinking and a guaranteed way to be miserable.

I can let go of this suffering by accepting WHAT IS. I can say, “This is how I am right now and that’s okay.”

When I first tried this, I could say it but not believe it. Then I began to experience the freedom this perspective brings – just by changing my mind! Now I’m beginning to believe it. What a gift!

“When we stop opposing reality, action becomes simple, fluid, kind, and fearless.”
— Byron Katie

A Note from the Universe

Do you know what they all have in common?

You know, the billions and billions who came before you, who used to live in the jungles of time and space.

Their adventure is over.

You know what else?

Given another chance, they’d take more risks. Not because they’d always succeed, but because from where they are now, the glory of knowing they at least tried far exceeds any regrets of never knowing what might have been.

Tallyho,

The Universe

Friendship

“Those friends thou hast, and their adoptions tried,
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel.” -Shakespeare

One of the greatest gifts we are given in this lifetime is the gift of friendship. Our friends are our treasures! We learn so much from each other. Think about the first friend you ever had. Remember the joy you felt just hanging out and playing together? Chances are that the friends we had in childhood are different than the friends we have today. People change and grow and move away and go on to lead separate lives. But we remember those friends, and they remember us! We learned from them then, and are where we are now in part because of those friendships.
