“How fair doth Nature
Appear again!
How bright the sunbeams!
How smiles the plain!
The flow’rs are bursting
From ev’ry bough,
And thousand voices
Each bush yields now.
And joy and gladness
Fill ev’ry breast!
Oh earth!–oh sunlight!
Oh rapture blest!
Oh love! oh loved one!”

MNN: Why we should live our lives more like sloths do
‘Life in the Sloth Lane’ embraces a slower, more mindful approach
Sloths they’re the adorable, slow-moving mammals that many people have grown to love. These peaceful animals can also teach us a thing or two about how we should live our lives, according to zoologist Lucy Cooke author of “Life in the Sloth Lane: Slow Down and Smell the Hibiscus,” a photo book filled with inspirational quotes about embracing and enjoying life
Cooke spoke with MNN about her love and commitment to sloths, and why they’re one of her favorite animals.

A Bountiful Moment
Daily Thought: Take each new day as an opportunity to learn something new. Challenge yourself. Learn to become comfortable with the unknown by looking at it as a chance to grow. Not only will this keep you moving forward toward achieving things you never thought possible it will also help keep you young.
Daily Practice: Challenge yourself today by trying or learning something new. It can be as simple as learning a new word to as challenge as training to run a marathon. Put this practice on repeat and make sure to incorporate into your daily routine.
Have a Great Day and Believe in Yourself!

MNN: Why you should grow a lawn for bees
If your landscape goal is to have the perfect lawn, who is it for? Yourself? Your neighbors? If the answer is both, perhaps you should expand your definition of neighbors and rise to a different challenge: Try growing a perfect lawn for bees.

EarthSky News: May guide to the bright planets
Jupiter rules! This month, it shines at its brightest best for 2018 and is out all night. Venus blazes in early evening. Saturn and Mars rise late and ornament the predawn hours.

Patheos-Pagan: Sensual Healing Bath Ritual For Beltane
Beltane is often thought of as a sensual, sexual holiday. There may be expectations of mingling with others, celebration, dancing, and intimacy. If you’re single, solitary, or just not feeling that celebratory/sensual, you might be feeling left out. Celebrating Beltane doesn’t have to be a wild romp in the woods. It can be on your own terms. I created this solitary healing bath ritual to heal and to honor where you are at this point in your life and at Beltane.

Inner Journey: Speak Kindly To Yourself
“What is this self inside us, this silent observer, Severe and speechless critic, who can terrorize us, And urge us on to futile activity, And in the end, judge us still more severely, For the errors into which his own reproaches drove us?”
— T. S. Eliot
How do you talk to yourself? Would you talk that way to anyone else?
Our thoughts create our reality. How do you typically think about yourself? Do you berate yourself for being stupid, sloppy, forgetful or insensitive? Do you watch yourself with interest, respect and compassion? Stay alert to your self-talk and let go of judgments that don’t serve you.
“Self-acceptance is my refusal to be in an adversarial relationship to myself.”
— Nathaniel Branden

A Note from the Universe
Little is more impressive, inspirational, or sexy, than watching someone in the throes of action, driven by purpose, oblivious to all but their aim.

Today’s Recipe: Fruity Sangria
This adult party drink can be made with a combination of fresh fruit and red wine.
I made this for a summer party just after harvesting my cherry tree. Many people loved it but some thought it was too sour. You may want to consider increasing the sugar if you like it sweet. It is a strong and fruity flavor so be sure to adjust the ratios to best suit your tastes.

Friendship
“The only way to have a friend is to be one.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
Friendship is ours to give. It is a gift that multiplies when it comes back to us. Friends help us to be more of who we are, they help us to feel our connection to the world. With the support of friends we can achieve more, enjoy more, and appreciate more. And we can do the same for our friends! Friendship works both ways.
