In June ’tis good to lie beneath a tree
While the blithe season comforts every sense,
Steeps all the brain in rest, and heals the heart,
Brimming it o’er with sweetness unawares.
-J. R. Lowell (1819-91)
Spiritual Unite: Mandalas: Spirituality, Art, And Therapy
Mandalas represent a whole world, God, the human being, life, and creation. This circular form is a symbol called archetype, that is, an image that is rooted in the collective subconscious that governs the inner order of nature, as in the zodiac signs system our birthday determines certain aspects of our personality http://www.spiritualunite.com/articles/mandalas-spirituality-art-and-therapy/
MBG: 6 Things You Should Always Keep In Mind As You’re Manifesting
As a psychic intuitive, I regularly work with clients who are trying to manifest new opportunities and really become co-creators in their own lives. Here are a few mental tips and rituals I’ve seen be really effective at getting people into the manifestation mindset and bringing their dreams—
MNN: 23 things that aren’t recyclable
We’ve all probably been guilty of this recycling no-no at least once — discarding a disposable coffee cup or food takeout container in our bin. While you may be thinking you’re doing your part to help, your optimistic recycling may actually be hurting the process.
EarthSky News: June guide to the bright planets
Here’s how to find the bright planets – Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Mercury – this month.
Patheos-Pagan: A short theory of the pip cards (The Cartomancer)
This theory applies to the Marseille type of cards, or any other historical deck that has no figurative illustrations on the cards à la the popular Waite-Smith Tarot that features cartoon-like vignettes on every card.
LOVE YOUR SHADOWS
“There is that part of ourselves that feels ugly, deformed, unacceptable. That part, above all, we must learn to cherish, embrace, and call by name.”
— Macrina Wiederkehr
Each of us has characteristics we define as good and those we define as ‘bad.’ The parts of ourselves that we continually reject want to be acknowledged and loved. Until we honour these aspects, they will continue to assert themselves. They will do whatever they can to get our attention.
What aspects of yourself do you reject?
Take a few moments to open to the parts of yourself that you do not love. See each one honestly for what it is. Explore the wounds and the motives that gave rise to its condition. Love a wounded part of yourself and it will heal.
“…self-contempt never inspires lasting change.”
— Jane R. Hirschmann and Carol H. Munter
“The first step toward change is acceptance. Once you accept yourself, you open the door to change. That’s all you have to do. Change is not something you do, it’s something you allow.”
— Will Garcia
A Note from the Universe
Everyone in your life was specially summoned to help you think and feel things you have never thought or felt before.
It’s working, huh?
Today’s Recipe: Fresh Herb Falafel
When I asked my friends what I should call my falafel recipe, they answered, “Actually Good Falafel.” As the story goes, whenever we order falafel from restaurants, they’re extremely mushy or so dry they crumble. These are made from dry chickpeas that have been soaked overnight, along with fresh herbs. If you’d like a quick and easy tahini-yogurt dip for your falafel, please see the very last step in this recipe.

“There is no chance, no destiny, no fate,
Can circumvent or hinder or control
The firm resolve of a determined soul.” -Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Sometimes we want something so badly, yet we’re afraid to really go for it. That’s when we’re told to take a leap of faith. Wow. That leap can be a pretty big one, too. But it is good for us to do this! It is only when we embrace the unknown and venture out into the field of infinite possibilities that we discover what is out there for us.
