Now the beautiful business of summer is over,
Earth wraps herself in a bright, leaf-patterned shawl.
The hives cement the prodigal juice of the clover
And spendthrift gold is hoarded in bin and stall.
–Jean Starr Untermeyer (1886–1970)

Tetraktys: Life Goals – Why You Need Them in Order to Be Happy and How to Find Yours
I don’t know about you, but I’m under the impression that a lot of people around me are quite unhappy. My wife and I are far from rich and we have to face difficulties from time to time. But still, we consider ourselves happy and we are always under the impression that the future is bright for us and our future children. It doesn’t seem to be the case for most people.
Elephant Journal: 8 Ground Rules for Better Emotional Self-Care.
As a thinking, feeling human, I’ve made a discovery.
Yes, self-care is important.
However, the self-care it seems we really need isn’t just regular exercise, drinking smoothies, and getting massages.
What I’m talking about is emotional self-care because basically, life is hard.
That’s why I’ve put together the following set of ground rules for better emotional self-care.

EarthSky News: It’s Mid-Autumn Festival time in Asia
Many Asian friends will be wishing each other a happy Mid-Autumn Festival on September 24, 2018. For us in the U.S. and elsewhere in the Northern Hemisphere, this weekend’s autumnal equinox and the coming week’s Harvest Moon are signs that autumn is here. Meanwhile, in China, Taiwan, Vietnam and other parts of Asia, the focus is on the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, which by tradition also carries a strong connection to the full moon.
Patheos-Pagan: I’m an Armchair Pagan
Armchair Paganism, the type of Paganism where you don’t actually do anything within your religion, you just believe in “Pagan” things. You might learn about and read about your religion. You probably engage in discussions and debates about Paganism. But other than that, you don’t really do much with it. You don’t do rituals, you don’t praise the Gods (or equivalent), you don’t really do anything. Your religion is more about belief than about action.
RELIEVE THE PRESSURE COOKER
“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life.”
— Mary Manin Morrissey
Journaling is a great way to release and let go. To get things off your chest. Our minds are our own worst enemies. The same thoughts go round and round in the same old ways and keep us stuck.
If something bothers you, write about it. Get it out so you can see it from a different perspective. Let it out. Let it go.
Owning and healing your pressure cooker is an important step in claiming your power, building your esteem and making your stand.
“In truth, to attain to interior peace, one must be willing to pass through the contrary to peace. Such is the teaching of the Sages.”
— Swami Brahmanada

“Union is only possible to those who are units. To be fit for relations in time, souls, whether of man or woman, must be able to do without them in the spirit.”
-Margaret Fuller, Women in the Nineteenth Century (1845)
We are each whole, complete, and perfect just as we are. None of us needs another person to be fulfilled. There is no “other half” that needs to be found. Our primary relationship is with ourselves. And we can choose to share our selves, because we know what an unlimited supply of love is available to us! We learn and grow and give and receive from our relationships – and that is beautiful.
