Oh, what a goodly and a glorious show;
The stately trees have decked themselves with white,
And stand transfigured in a robe of light;
Wearing for each lost leaf a flake of snow.
-Richard Wilton (1827-1902)
Spiritual Unite: Metaphysical Symbols And Their Meanings
Humankind has discovered an enormous variety of metaphysical symbols.
But where do these symbols come from, and what are their meanings?
This guide to the most common metaphysical symbols and the meaning to them should serve you well along your journey to enlightenment
Daily Good: My Word of the Year
“My word of the year is listen. Its one of those words whose meaning is in its music. Listen is a quiet word, that half swallowed L and diffident I and softly hissing S. It defies the clamorous words it absorbs, the words that have defined this year, the shouts and roars, the bray and bluster. Listening is hard when the sounds around us grow mean and ugly. And listening takes particular courage in divisive times.” Nancy Gibbs shares more in this evocative passage
Spirituality & Health: Healthier Indoor Air
BY KATHRYN DRURY WAGNER
According to the EPA, poor air quality indoors can harm human health in two ways: One, it can aggravate pre-existing conditions, such as asthma, and two, it can cause potentially life-threatening diseases over time, such as cancer, heart disease and respiratory diseases. It’s kind of scary, but remember, this is your own environment inside so do whatever you can. Here are a few ways to minimize your exposure to indoor air pollution and breath free
MNN: Snow blankets Arizona desert, creating otherworldly scenes
Arizona’s deserts, with their golden sand and rust-hued canyons, already have an otherworldly quality to them. So when Mother Nature decides to change the decor, it can make things seem even more mystical.
EarthSky News: Look for Cassiopeia and the Big Dipper
Tonight, look for the northern sky’s two most prominent sky patterns – the constellation Cassiopeia the Queen and the Big Dipper. Both circle around Polaris, the North Star, once a day. They are opposite each other, one on either side of the North Star.
Patheos-Pagan: Snowflake Sigils
Every winter, my city puts up big snowflake sigils on the main road. Whether they know it or not, they’re using sigil magic to create a sense of community.
BE AWARE OF YOUR MOTIVES
“Ordinarily, everything we do is in our self-interest. Everything.”
— Anthony de Mello
“Remember, most of the things you think you need are ego trips designed to bolster your image and your perception of security…. You’ll waste a lot of energy satisfying your ego only to find that, as soon as it’s got what it wants, it ignores all your efforts and promptly nails another list of demands to your forehead. The ego will always try to force you to slave for its vision. I wouldn’t stand for that BS if I were you.”
— Stuart Wilde
“We have no need to teach pure motives to the mind. All that is necessary to make the mind pure is to undo the negative conditioning to which it has been subjected; then we will be left with pure, unconditioned awareness.”
— Eknath Easwaran
A Note from the Universe
Though folks never suspect this in their times of crises, no one is ever more than a few wispy thoughts away from a rebound, breakthrough, or blazing new trails with friends, in love.

Tetraktys: Quantum Retrocausality and the Nature of Life – The Link People Refuse to Make
The title might look a bit overwhelming, but you’ll see soon enough what I’m talking about. I’m not a physicist, but I do love watching vulgarization videos about physics on Youtube. Recently, I’ve been interested by the subject of quantum retrocausality, and, as someone who “kinda” believes in destiny, I must say that I would REALLY like physicists to find proofs that it, indeed, exists.

“The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Since this newsletter is called WisdomNews I thought we’d start off the new year talking about wisdom. Wisdom goes beyond knowledge. We often hear wisdom associated with sages, people who seem to know and understand those things that sometimes have no explanation. Maybe it is recognizing that connection between all things that makes everything miraculous. Wisdom is attainable, all the wisdom of the universe is at hand right now.
