Spirit Library: If you ever feel like you don’t make a difference
Kindness is highly contagious. It’s more contagious, in fact, than the cold.
The contagiousness of kindness is powered by what’s known as ‘elevation’, a description coined by social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt. It’s a sense of warmth, satisfaction, expansion, even gratitude. It’s the feeling we feel when we do something kind, but also when we receive kindness or even witness it

Herbal Muse: Rosemary & Thyme Antibacterial Spray
Rosemary contains a number of active compounds that are responsible for the
pharmacological actions of the herb, including hesperidin (a powerful antioxidant), carnosol (antioxidant, anti-carcinogen and anti-inflammatory) and other phenolic diterpenoids with potent antimicrobial properties. Thyme, which contains another phenol called thymol, was once the standard antiseptic in first-aid kits carried on the battlefields of World War I. This spray is prepared in minutes and will be at-the-ready in your natural first aid kit when needed for minor scrapes, bug bites and rashes. Learn how to make this…

MNN: Meditation or vacation: Which one is better?
Research shows that meditation has a positive effect on your mental health, helping to improve mood and lower stress levels. But a 2016 study has found that the practice may also have quantifiable physical health benefits, too. In fact, when compared with the de-stressing health benefits of a relaxing vacation, meditation’s effects may be even stronger and longer-lasting

EarthSky News: Young moon after sunset March 7-10
From many places worldwide – especially south of Earth’s equator – it’ll be a challenge to spot the young moon in the west after sunset on March 7, 2019. After all, the moon was new – or most nearly between the Earth and sun for this month – on March 6 at 16:04 UTC; translate to your time.

Patheos-Pagan: Building a Home Shrine
I spent the weekend building a home shrine. All this time and I’ve never really had one, at least not intentionally. There are plenty of sacred spaces in the house, don’t get me wrong. I have special tabletops and shelves that tend to accumulate meaningful objects,

Inner Journey:
DISCOVER THE TREASURES INSIDE
“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
— Denis Waitley
Peace, joy, health and well-being can only be found inside us. They exist within us now, waiting to be discovered. Yet we tend to look to the outside world to satisfy our needs and longings.
Our outer life reflects back to us the way we think, feel and behave. The outer world is all effects. Go to the source inside for all of life’s treasures.
How are you searching for peace and contentment outside of yourself?
“The great Western disease is, ‘I’ll be happy when… When I get the money. When I get a BMW. When I get this job.’ Well, the reality is, you never get to when. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It’s in here. And happiness is not next week. It’s now.”

Character
“The world may take your reputation from you, but it cannot take your character.”
-Emma Dunham Kelley, Megda, 1891
“A man’s character is the reality of himself. His reputation is the opinion others have formed of him. Character is in him; reputation is from other people – that is the substance, this is the shadow.”
-H.W. Beecher (1813-1887)
“If I take care of my character, my reputation will take care of itself.”
-D.L. Moody (1837-1899)
I just had to include all three of these quotes together. These were taken from three different sources! I don’t know if these people knew each other, or were commenting on their statements – but it sure sounds like it. That’s the way spirit works sometimes – all these events happening in different times and places that somehow mesh together seamlessly. Notice the contrast that each draws between character and reputation. Where do we place the most value?
There are things we can work on, and things we really have no control over. When we work on ourselves, the rest seems to fall into place. It’s the “reap what you sow” factor taken to another level. It’s the “ripple effect” that we can’t always see because we’re right in the middle of it.

ThoughtCo. : Crafts for the Pagan Ostara Sabbat
Spring has finally arrived! March has roared in like a lion, and if we’re really lucky, it will roll out like a lamb. Meanwhile, on or around the 21st of the month, we have Ostara to celebrate. It’s the time of the vernal equinox if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, and it’s a true marker that spring has come.
