Daily Dream Meaning: Hiding

1. If the dreamer is doing the hiding, there is a part of him that is “hidden,” even from him, that perhaps needs to come to the surface and be looked at.
2. If the dreamer hides an object from someone else, then he is concealing something that perhaps needs to be revealed.
3. If the dreamer is searching for someone or something, there is something missing, either an idea or an actual object, that she needs to find and make use of. Other symbols in the dream could reveal exactly what that is.

Inner Journey:

BEING GENUINE

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

When we don’t know who we are — or if we are afraid to be who we are — we betray ourselves. We pretend to be who we think we are. Our self image is made up of our experiences, desires and other people’s ideas and expectations of us.

Maintaining this false self is a betrayal of ourselves. In all deep spiritual journeys, there is the experience of betrayal. Betrayal always tells us to adjust our life to be more authentic. What we identify with is all important.

There are large betrayals (e.g., your partner leaving you) and small betrayals (e.g., disappointments). They are all experiences of being wounded for the purpose of breaking down the defenses of the personality. When we allow the wounding and accept the betrayals as divine gifts, we greatly benefit.

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
— Dr. Seuss (via Elena)

“What you must dare is to be yourself.”
— Dag Hammarskjold

Consistency
“Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are the dead.”

-Aldous Huxley

It is our nature to grow and to change. We evolve. We learn. Sometimes we shake things up with our new views and opinions – but that just promotes more growth. Sometimes we have to prune the dead branches from a tree in order for the new buds to have room to grow and for the tree to be healthy and thrive. We can prune away our outdated thinking, and leave room for expansion

“Coronavirus has uprooted the fabric of our lives. How does a heart of service respond to an unknown cause and how do we build resilience when we can’t be physically together? Uncertain times raise significant questions that can architect a new story for our future. Carbon emissions have dropped dramatically, but xenophobia is rising. Nursing homes are being evacuated, only to bring elders home to their families. Shopping malls are empty but family meals are on the rise. Awakening of kindness is pervasive, but the inequality of human suffering is evident. Borders are still present, but the boundaries of our shared humanity are getting blurry. Inner Journey:

OPENING THE HEART

“Everything is made of light; everything is alive. The Great Mystery of life has little to do with intelligence. The universe is not an intellectual process. The intellect is helpful; but our hearts are the wiser part of ourselves.”
— Mellen-Thomas Benedict

Heart is a word that refers to many different levels of our being. Essentially, it is the love aspect of soul, capable of making direct, intuitive contact. Soul love is not emotional; it is highly impersonal and intelligent, capable of grasping the essence of someone or something without any projection on our part.

Appreciation significantly turns on the heart. Appreciation is not an emotion that arises spontaneously, but a soul quality we can choose. The more often we choose to be appreciative, the easier this choice becomes and the more frequently our heart opens to give and receive love.

“If you open your heart, love opens your mind.”

Mystery
“The more unintelligent a man is, the less mysterious existence seems to him.”

-Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)
For concrete evidence of mystery, we could go to a library and count up how many topics we know nothing about. Even the most scholarly people, experts in their fields, understand that there is more for them to learn. The world just operates that way. It is changing and growing and evolving just as we are – so there will always be some mystery for us to happen upon. Existence is big, and it is ours to discover.

Rosemary was well known to ancient practitioners. It was an herb known for strengthening the memory and helping the brain. Eventually, it also became associated with the fidelity of lovers, and was presented to wedding guests as a gift. WHAT’S OFF BALANCE?

“To do great work a man must be very idle as well as very industrious.”
— Samuel Butler

Spirit requires a balance of female and male energy, yin and yang, receptiveness and expression. Are you sensitive to intuition and inner guidance? Are you able to act on the guidance you receive? Seek to find a balance in being and doing in all areas of your life.

“The balanced energy is the birthing energy. I used to say that the birthing energy was all feminine — it’s not. You have to push and you have to be. It’s such a potent example of the dance of the feminine and masculine together, the dance that is the creative energy of life!”

Progress

“Progress has not followed a straight ascending line, but a spiral with rhythms of progress and regression, of evolution and dissolution.”

-Goethe (1749-1832)

Sometimes we need to take a few steps back in order to get a running start. We make mistakes, and as long as we learn from those mistakes, we progress, we grow. DISCOVER THE TREASURES INSIDE

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
— Denis Waitley

Peace, joy, health and well-being can only be found inside us. They exist within us now, waiting to be discovered. Yet we tend to look to the outside world to satisfy our needs and longings.

Our outer life reflects back to us the way we think, feel and behave. The outer world is all effects. Go to the source inside for all of life’s treasures.

How are you searching for peace and contentment outside of yourself?

“The great Western disease is, ‘I’ll be happy when… When I get the money. When I get a BMW. When I get this job.’ Well, the reality is, you never get to when. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It’s in here. And happiness is not next week. It’s now.”

“The world may take your reputation from you, but it cannot take your character.”
-Emma Dunham Kelley, Megda, 1891

“A man’s character is the reality of himself. His reputation is the opinion others have formed of him. Character is in him; reputation is from other people – that is the substance, this is the shadow.”

-H.W. Beecher (1813-1887)

“If I take care of my character, my reputation will take care of itself.”
-D.L. Moody (1837-1899)

I just had to include all three of these quotes together. These were taken from three different sources! I don’t know if these people knew each other, or were commenting on their statements – but it sure sounds like it. That’s the way spirit works sometimes – all these events happening in different times and places that somehow mesh together seamlessly. Notice the contrast that each draws between character and reputation. Where do we place the most value?

There are things we can work on, and things we really have no control over. When we work on ourselves, the rest seems to fall into place. It’s the “reap what you sow” factor taken to another level. It’s the “ripple effect” that we can’t always see because we’re right in the middle of it.

ThoughtCo. : Crafts for the Pagan Ostara Sabbat

Spring has finally arrived! March has roared in like a lion, and if we’re really lucky, it will roll out like a lamb. Meanwhile, on or around the 21st of the month, we have Ostara to celebrate. It’s the time of the vernal equinox if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, and it’s a true marker that spring has come.
