The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure;
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.
-William Wordsworth (1770-1850)
Spiritual Unite: Seeing Flashes Of Light Spiritual – What Are They?
Have you seen flashes of light regularly? Perhaps they appear in the corner of your eye, or even right in front of you!
It is a growing phenomenon among the spiritual community, and there are a couple of different explanations.
ThoughtCo: Lavender Dream Pillow
The use of Lavender has been documented for thousands of years. Pliny the Elder says that its blossom, called Asarum, sold for a hundred Roman denarii. The Greeks called it Nardus, after a city in Syria on the banks of the Euphrates.
MBG: These Outdoor Rituals Are Begging For A Spot In Your Summer Routine
Is there anything more electric than the start of summer? A time to crack open closed windows; take long, meandering walks; and plan the season’s travel, it feels busting with promise and possibility. If you live in an area with severe winters, this point of the year is also an opportunity to reconnect with nature after months spent indoors.
Today’s Deity: Freyr
Freyr (pronounced “FREY-ur;” Old Norse Freyr, “Lord;” sometimes anglicized as “Frey”) is a god who belongs to the Vanir tribe of deities. He’s also an honorary member of the other tribe of Norse gods, the Aesir, having arrived in their fortress, Asgard, as a hostage at the closing of the Aesir-Vanir War.
Elephant Journal: How to Turn Any Practice into a Ritual
Every millenial has dabbled with a skin care regimen, meditation practice, or bedtime routine at some point. However, without mindfulness, we overlook the joy, presence, and intentionality that rituals deserve. The practices can become robotic and outright boring. Here are the seven qualities to cultivate, to turn any routine into a heart-warming ritual.
Birds & Blooms: Owls of North America: Meet Your Nocturnal Neighbors
When the sun goes down and the streetlights turn on, most owls’ days are just getting started with their day. These mysterious birds like to keep a low profile, so although there’s probably at least one living in your neighborhood, chances are you’ve never seen it.
EarthSky News: Which moon phase best for stargazing?
Tonight – May 28, 2019 – the moon is now in a slender waning crescent phase, so the old moon won’t be rising until the wee hours of the morning on May 29. We received this question:
Which phase of the moon would be best for stargazing, and why?
Patheos-Pagan: Spells & Charms: What is a spell?
A spell can be worked in many ways from a simple pointing of the finger to a complicated ritual involving lots of tools, herbs and crystals and of course any variation in between. As a Kitchen Witch, I do prefer to keep things simple but I also like delving into different types of spells, how you put them together, how to work with them and what you need.
WHERE’S YOUR ATTENTION?
“Only one thing has to change for us to know happiness in our lives: where we focus our attention.”
— Greg Anderson
What do you usually focus on: problems or solutions?
When our mind dwells on a problem, we stay stuck. Woe is me! But when we can shift to ask how we might achieve a solution to our problem, our subconscious mind, thinking and creativity move into gear. New possibilities open up.
Get in the habit of asking for solutions!
“Every choice moves us closer to or farther away from something. Where are your choices taking your life? What do your behaviors demonstrate that you are saying yes or no to in life?”
— Eric Allenbaugh
Daily Tarot: Temperance
See through a false impression or some illusion that has been projected to throw you off course or to misjudge someone. Done innocently or deliberately, you can dispel that false impression and work your way right through it. You could even do this without challenging or confronting anyone directly, thus saving yourself the trauma of a showdown. Go slow when making any decisions that affect others.

After having Moroccan food the first time for a friend’s birthday, I had to try out this homemade version. This meal was easy, tasty, and exotic, and it was a hit with the whole family. The leftover chicken was great with naan bread and hummus for lunch the next day.

“One of the signs of passing youth is the birth of a sense of fellowship with other human beings as we take our place among them.”
-Virginia Woolf (1882-1941)
As we start learning more about ourselves, and realizing more and more who we really are, we begin to understand just how much we really have in common with one another. We’re all in this together, and there is so much we can each to do help one another. As time goes on, we naturally become more compassionate, because we can empathize with a more broad range of experiences.
