ThoughtCo: Profile of Nemesis

Nemesis is a Greek goddess of revenge and retribution. In particular, she is invoked against those whose hubris and arrogance got the better of them, and serves as a force of divine reckoning. Originally, she was a deity who simply doled out what people had coming to them, whether good or bad.

MBG: Sex, Psychics & Kundalini Kriyas: 8 Ways To Stay Inspired During Colder Seasons

If you’re anything like me, you might tend to get very uninspired in the wintertime. I crave blankets, sleeping in, warmth, and Harry Potter movies as the days start to get shorter. Around this time of year, I also hear a lot from my clients that they’re lacking inspiration too. People who love their work or relationships or travel seem to simply lose the gusto for it.

Daily Good: Between Worlds

What is it like to be a living member of a dying community? Climate change is making this an increasingly common reality. Isle de Jean Charles, a slip of land off the coast of Louisiana is one such place. This island is home to a hundred or so people, members, mostly, of a Native American tribe called the Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw–the BCC for short. For eight generations, the people of Isle de Jean Charles thrived, eating the bounty of the land and the sea: shrimp, crawfish, fish, and oysters, as well as plants they wild-harvested and grew in gardens. The tribe was so self-sufficient that when the oil and gas companies began prospecting nearby, they were surprised to discover people. But global warming is causing their land to disappear from under their feet. Anya Groner visited this magical place and shares her journey into the mystery of trying to stay grounded as a people while facing the inevitable loss of a homeland. { read more }

MNN: When honeybees get stuck in water, they create their own waves and ‘surf’ to safety

Bees need water just like the rest of us. A honeybee might fly several miles to find a good water source, both for drinking and to help regulate the temperature of her hive. Sometimes, though, a thirsty honeybee gets more than she bargained for, and instead of water ending up in the bee, the bee ends up in the water.

EarthSky News: Young moon and 3 planets after sunset

Depending on where you live worldwide, you may – or may not – catch the tiniest sliver of a young moon in the western sky after sunset on November 27, 2019. The moon will be sitting in the afterglow of sunset, beneath the dazzling planets Venus and Jupiter, the third-brightest and fourth-brightest celestial objects to light up the heavens, respectively, after the sun and moon.

Patheos-Pagan: The Song of My Heart is the Sacred Earth

This Sacred Earth
I have told the story many time of the Indian lady who ran a hardware stall at a local indoor market near us. She said her life seemed to revolve around that stall. It took up so much of her time, so much in fact that she rarely had time to visit her temple for worship.

Inner Journey:

Each of us has characteristics we define as ‘good’ and those we define as ‘bad.’ The parts of ourselves that we continually reject want to be acknowledged and loved. Until we honour these aspects, they will continue to assert themselves. They will do whatever they can to get our attention.

What aspects of yourself do you reject?

Take a few moments to open to the parts of yourself that you do not love. See each one honestly for what it is. Explore the wounds and the motives that gave rise to its condition. Love a wounded part of yourself and it will heal.

“Strangely enough we strengthen love in ourselves when we raise into consciousness the shadow side of our lives. Conversely, when we keep negative feelings out of sight, they smother the love that seems to lie deeper and closer to the real self. This is probably why there is so much pain in not loving. The life that is not able to express the love which is so integral to it grows deformed.”
— Elizabeth O’Connor

A Note from the Universe

Many come close yet few dare, so boldly, to live without judgment, to give without expecting, and to love for no reason.

We call it a spiritual trifecta.

“Your whole past was but a birth and a becoming.”

-Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900-1944)

We know that the nature of life is to grow. And so here we are. And we couldn’t have gotten here without everything that has happened in the past. It is the same way for society as it is for individuals. Whatever has happened throughout history has had an impact on how we have grown and changed as a nation, and as a planet. We’re all connected. And the more that we grow as individuals, the greater the impact will be on our communities and our countries.

Daily Tarot: The Sun

Little or nothing will slow you down or be daunting to you today. You have so much inner strength, and physical strength, too, that people will have trouble keeping up with you. Do something special today, or perhaps excel at something significant and challenging that will be easily within your grasp. You may find out later that you were dazzling and that you inspired several people to more energetically pursue their passions.
