The Herbal Muse Damiana and Vanilla Cordial
Homemade vanilla cordial with damiana is a lovely introduction to using vanilla as a home herbal. While used widely as a flavoring agent and a perfume, vanilla’s other uses are largely overlooked.
Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia) is purported to sharpen the mind and strengthen memory (McBride, 2010). Vanillin, which is the primary chemical constituent in vanilla (Hoffmann, 2003), appears to have anti-cancer and anti-mutagenic action in cells, while other vanilla compounds show antioxidant activity (Shyamala, 2007). As a carminative, vanilla helps relax the digestive system and soothe upset caused by gas.

EarthSky News: Mercury-Saturn quasi-conjunction Feb 23, 2021
The bright planets Mercury and Saturn will meet up for a quasi-conjunction on February 23, 2021. Although both of these worlds shine as brilliantly as 1st-magnitude stars, and are almost equally bright, Mercury and Saturn might be hard to see with the eye alone in the glow of morning dawn. Look eastward as the predawn darkness is giving way to morning twilight, or roughly an hour or more before sunrise. Binoculars may be helpful.
Patheos-Pagan: Moon Magick: What to do, When to do it!
The energies of the Moon have always held some sort of magick to us all. Whether it is the craziness of a Full Moon or the darkness of a New, it is hard to say that the phases of the moon do not affect us but how can we put that energy to use? Read on… for some clarity and useful tidbits.

Inner Journey: LEARN TO BE AWARE
“You can live a lifetime and, at the end of it, know more about other people than you know about yourself.”
— Beryl Markham
Who am I? To answer this, we must first learn to become more aware of ourselves. To be aware, we must STOP and PAY ATTENTION! We need to STOP and objectively watch ourselves in action.
We live most of our lives by habit. These habits keep us stuck in patterns that limit our experience of life. Once we detect a pattern we were previously unconscious of, we can choose differently, if we want. With awareness comes choice and with choice, we gain freedom.
“To be authentic is literally to be your own author…, to discover your own native energies and desires, and then to find your own way of acting on them.”
— Warren G. Bennis
“Self-knowledge is the great power by which we comprehend and control our lives.”
— Vernon Howard
A Note from the Universe
A great trick to getting what you want, fast, though one requiring a deep level of understanding, is “insistence.”
Not the kind, however, that expects “life” to behave a certain way, but the kind that expects you to behave a certain way.

“Failure is just another way to learn how to do something right.”
-Marian Wright Edelman, 1987
We tend to think of failure as such a negative. But it’s only a negative if we let it stop us. The other way of looking at failure is seeing it as one step closer to success! We learn from our trials and tribulations. And we take what we learn and grow from the experience – which makes us more prepared for success. It’s part of the process.

Daily Tarot: The Fool
Boredom could be a problem today, so put more energy into finishing what needs to get done before you decide to slow down or stop for the day. Once you’ve done the minimum required for the day, the rest of the time becomes yours to do with as you please. You don’t really mean to waste the rest of the day, but you don’t have to burn yourself out, either.
