ThoughtCo: Hestia, Greek Goddess of the Hearth
The Greek goddess Hestia watches over domesticity and the family, and was traditionally honored with the first offering at any sacrifice made in the home. On a public level, Hestia’s flame was never allowed to burn out. The local town hall served as a shrine for her—and any time a new settlement was formed, settlers would take a flame from their old village to the new one

Daily Good: Mary Oliver & The Witchery of Living
The witchery of living
is my whole conversation
with you, my darlings.
All I can tell you is what I know.
- Mary Oliver –
Mary Oliver & The Witchery of Living
“Will the hungry ox stand in the field and not eat
of the sweet grass?
Will the owl bite off its own wings?
Will the lark forget to lift its body in the air or
forget to sing?
Will the rivers run upstream?
Behold, I say — behold
the reliability and the finery and the teachings
of this gritty earth gift.”
So begins this poem from Mary Oliver. It is a poem that bristles with imperatives, pointblank inquiries and penetrating insight. It is a poem large of heart and long of stride, that whisks the reader right into the enchanted thicket that is,’the witchery of living.’ Read it here. { read more }

EarthSky News: Mercury’s greatest elongation Mar 6, 2021
Mercury, the solar system’s innermost planet, makes a close-knit conjunction with the king planet Jupiter on March 5, 2021, and then reaches its maximum elongation from the sun for the year on March 6, 2021. But don’t wait till then to start looking for these worlds. Starting early March, from around the world, Jupiter and Mercury snuggle up plenty close together on the sky’s dome, beneath the planet Saturn! The feature chart at top is for March 3, 2021, at North American mid-northern latitudes.

Patheos-Pagan: Otherfaith Spirits: Aster Aira
For the past month or so I have been working with one of the spirits in the Otherfaith. This process involved journeying (or, as some call it, pathworking), journaling, contemplating his associations and symbols, and prayers and offerings. How I go about encountering and interacting with new/non-historical spirits is complex and beyond the scope of this article, though I hope to explain it someday.

Inner Journey: DISCOVER THE TREASURES INSIDE
“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
— Denis Waitley
Peace, joy, health and well-being can only be found inside us. They exist within us now, waiting to be discovered. Yet we tend to look to the outside world to satisfy our needs and longings.
Our outer life reflects back to us the way we think, feel and behave. The outer world is all effects. Go to the source inside for all of life’s treasures.
How are you searching for peace and contentment outside of yourself?
“The great Western disease is, ‘I’ll be happy when… When I get the money. When I get a BMW. When I get this job.’ Well, the reality is, you never get to when. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It’s in here. And happiness is not next week. It’s now.”
— Marshall Goldsmith

A Note from the Universe
Live your dreams now, to any degree that you can. With every purchase. Every decision. Every hello and goodbye. Every assignment. Every conversation. Every meal. Every morning, afternoon, and evening. And never, ever, ever look back.
Reframe every thought, word, and deed from the perspective of the person you’ve always dreamed you’d be, as if your life was already as you’ve always dreamed it would be.
Die to yesterday’s illusions and be reborn to the truth of your vision. And let’s just see if you can handle the torrent of treasures I send your way.

Longevity
“If there is one single secret to long life, that secret is moderation.”
-George Gallup (1901-1984)
It’s amazing how far good common sense gets us. Moderation is that middle path. It’s balance. We have a lot to balance in this life – our diets, our relationships, our workload, our checkbooks. When things are in balance then we are less stressed, we’re better able to cope with the little stuff that comes up. Moderation may take some maintenance, but maintenance is a lot easier to handle than repair.

Daily Tarot: The Lovers
Indecision is not necessarily a bad thing, but taken to extremes it can make you pessimistic and defeatist. Take the time you need to make the choices you need but don’t get bogged down and grind to a halt. Take yourself in hand and refuse to feel helpless in the face of a challenging (or tempting) situation. Refuse to be rushed by anyone, too.
