Today’s Message: Giving and Receiving Support

89: Every day we receive support from the universe, the angels, and from people in our lives. Today the Universe is telling us that it’s a good time to acknowledge those who love us and who are always there to listen or lend a hand when we need it. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone told someone else “Good job!” “Way to go!” or “Thank you for doing your best!”? Simple things like these inspire growth, create connections, and make lives better. Share some of your optimistic energy today with others for a win-win situation. It’s important to remember though that not everyone is there to support you and it is up to you to gently cut cords with those who take pleasure in knocking you down. When we allow ourselves to receive this negative energy from others we are harmed, mentally, emotionally, and energetically. A good support system lifts you up and by surrounding yourself with loving and supportive people it draws more of the same back to you and helps you to support others in turn.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Embrace the healing energy of Archangel Raphael. This enhances your personal healing abilities so that you are better equipped to help yourself and others when needed. He teaches us that it is through our spiritual journey that we can heal our selves and our lives and therefore regain our self confidence and faith. Today’s Message: An Aura of Gratitude

88: Today the angels are sending us a big high five. Their message is “Embrace your gratitude and you will find that avenues will open and the gifts the universe will be sent your way!”

By living in and embracing the Aura of Gratitude we can effectively draw prosperity and abundance into our lives. Even if we can only find that “One Good Thing” in a situation we can use it to create a foundation that can be built upon. The key lies in acknowledging all of our blessings and expressing our feelings of gratitude to what we have and what is offered. Small things add up as they help us to draw more positives into our lives. Remember that you must do the work in order to make things happen. Don’t sit back and wait or you’ll miss out on the amazing things that are in store for you.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Raguel sets us on the path to personal empowerment. He helps us to find our strength and promotes clarity when we feel conflicted about what to do next by providing a boost of energy and by bringing order to your thoughts. The Ascended Master Buddha helps us to find our gratitude. By acknowledging what we have to be grateful for we are filled with joy and inner peace which encourages positive flow. It promotes the optimistic mindset necessary to activate the manifestation process and nudges us into action. We can also use Citrine to help us sift through information and analyze situations so that we can move forward with positive intent. Citrine also helps us go with the flow and encourages us to explore all options so that we can make the best decisions for our journey.

Iolite, also known as “Poor Man’s Amethyst” it is a stone of vision that assists our intuition and aids us in setting things in motion by staying true to yourself and your path while freeing you from the expectations of others. It helps us to live in the moment making it easier to snag the blessings given to us. It is also a soothing stone that calms emotions during times of change.

Orbicular or Ocean Jasper helps to increase our sense of responsibility and promotes patience. It provides the strength we need to calmly deal with life’s challenges and soothes the emotional stress that can happen when we become impatient for results

Today’s Message: Turn On Your Intuition

87: We all come equipped with a personal guidance system called intuition. And, every day we are faced with choices that we must make for our personal evolution. When faced with the choices that will have an impact on your life ask yourself “Is this best for me right now?” Your inner guidance system will always be the voice of reason and will not steer you wrong. The key to intuition is learning to recognize it as opposed to the voice of the Inner Child who can often get us into trouble. Today the angels are asking us to fire up our intuition and embrace the strength and courage to make the best possible choices for our current situations. They are also telling us that it’s time for a balance check in regards to giving and receiving. Make any necessary adjustments to avoid tipping the scales.

Archangel Michael helps to calm our fears as he guides us through issues of self doubt by clearing our energy field and quieting the internal chatter so that we can access the guidance being sent to us. Moonstone, the stone of new beginnings. This beautiful, watery stone helps to navigate the cycles of change and calms our emotions. It also provides emotional healing by helping to stabilize the emotions and draw out old emotional patterns.

Rose Quartz brings us inner peace and harmony which is essential to increasing our faith and promoting self-love which is key to positive self-expression and empowerment. It helps to promote the softer, more loving view that we need to embrace gratitude

Today’s Message: Free Flowing Energy

86: The “Attitude of Gratitude” carries over into today. If material concerns are bugging you then take a few minutes and give those worries to the angels. Do this as often as you need to (sometimes these things just keep knocking at the door) to bring you a little peace of mind. Fear and worry can block your energy so letting go of them or letting things just be can help clear the mind and help us balance. Remember to embrace gratitude on all levels and don’t cut yourself short by focusing on a single area. Free flowing energy assists our manifestation process by attracting good things to us like a magnet. So focus on a positive outcome because good things are headed your way!

Archangel Sandalphon hears all requests and makes sure that they get to the Angel or Ascended Master who is best able to handle them. Today’s Recipe: Margaret’s Keftedes (Greek Meatballs)

This is my yia yia’s recipe–a family favorite straight from the village of Kyparissia. Serve as an appetizer or with tzatziki, Greek salata, and pita or pasta for a full meal. They taste best served at room temp and make for wonderful leftovers. If you don’t care for lamb, try using all beef instead.

Today’s Message: Creative Thinking and Perspective

85: The “attitude of gratitude” is important when working to increase our flow of abundance. By abundance I mean on all levels not just financial gain. However, we must also be open to both giving and receiving. By tipping the scales in either direction “we lose out and miss out”. The balance between giving and receiving combined with the attitude of gratitude creates energy. It flows out gathering things along the way and sends good things back to us, including prosperity and abundance (on all levels). Today the angels are asking us to take some time to acknowledge the good things that happen (Remember, there is always at least one good thing) The key words for today are creative thinking and perspective. Being grateful opens a whole new realm of possibilities to explore!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Raziel assists us in all forms of manifestation. This includes our ‘Tiny Miracles” which he helps bring forward into the light. He tells us that growth and freedom can be found when we let go of our limiting self beliefs and fears which hold us back from achieving and creating the life we want. He says ” Expand your mind and you will manifest prosperity and abundance on all levels.”

The Hindu Goddess White Tara embodies the beauty of Divine love and shows us the path to strengthening or restoring our faith. She says: “Come and sit beside me. I will help ease the worry in your heart and teach you how to replace it with gratitude and joy. This is where faith dwells and we must only open the doors and invite it forward.” Tara’s name means “star”, and like a star, she helps to guide us along our path and through life.

Aventurine teaches us how to give and receive gracefully. Both are necessary for healthy relationships with self and others and it allows the Universe to care for you. Aventurine also helps to dispel the anger and irritation that sometimes arise when we are stuck in the “what I lack” mind loop.

Soft colored Lepidolite helps us by filtering away distractions and obsessive thinking so that we can focus on more important things. It soothes and heals stress and reminds us to just breathe.

Ruby, which promotes energy and balance. This gemstone is also a stone of abundance, however it tempers this with clarity and focus while eliminating self destructive patterns that can get in the way of our goals motivation.

The Celtic Tree Month of Hazel or Coll runs through August 5th – September 1st

Hazel, The Tree of Knowledge

Long ago, hazel trees were prized by the Romans who used the limber twigs to hold up grape vines. These vines were sacred to the Roman god Bacchus and goats who were found feeding on them were sacrificed to Bacchus and roasted on hazel spits. The Romans were also responsible for giving Scotland it’s latin name of Caledonia. Hazel trees were plenitful in Scotland and the Romans called it Cal-Dun or Hill of Hazel. Since the medieval times hazel has been held sacred, particularly in Ireland where it is part of a celtic triad – Apple for beauty; Hazel for wisdom; Oak for strength. These trees were in fact so sacred that cutting one unnecessarily carried the penalty of death. Hazel was often used in funeral pyres and it was also found in the coffins of people of note like chiefs and rulers.

In Irish legend, 9 hazel trees grew around the sacred well of Connla. The trees produce flowers and fruit (nuts0, the nuts fell into the well and were eaten by the salmon, the legend says that the salmon will have the exact number of spots as the number of nuts it has eaten. The salmon became the carrier of all knowledge.

PLANT INFORMATION

This tree is found all over the world ( Europe, North Africa, Asia, Britain and the US). It can be found growing in damp places, hedgerows, and oak woods. It resembles a large shrub more than a tree although it grows to heights of 12-20 feet. Hazel trees have heart shaped leaves and produce yellowish catkins (male) along with reddish flowers (female) which can be seen between April and May. There are aproximately 15 species of Hazel and they all produce nuts, called hazelnuts, filberts or cobnuts depending on where you live. The nuts are ripe by September and can be eaten right off the tree, The uneaten nuts fall off the tree and will actually germinate if left. The wood from this tree is tough and limber. It is used to make walking sticks, fishing poles, baskets and hampers. It’s an excellent firewood and the charcoal is used for making gunpowder and crayons.

HAZEL IN MAGICK

Hazel is used for divination and dowsing rods are often made from it. This was actually documented by Roman author, and philosopher, Pliny the Elder. The art of dowsing is called rhabdomancy and traditionally a divining rod was cut at night and from the eastern side of the tree. Before the 17th century these dowsing rods were used not only to find water but treasure, thieves and murders. An interesting fact is that this form of dowsing is still practiced in the celtic nation of Cornwall. Cornish legend says that the dowsing rod is guided to water or ore loads by piskies who guard the hazel trees. The nuts can also be used for divination. It is said that if you eat hazel nuts prior to divinatory workings you will gain increased knowledge. You can also use thie wood, leaves, and nuts in dark moon rituals.

The nuts were talismans carried for various reasons. People carried them to prevent toothaches. And they were said to help cure snakebites. Along this line St. Patrick used a hazel rod to drive all the snakes from Ireland. In Scandanavia this tree was sacred to the Thunder God, Thor and were used to protect a person again being struck by lightning.

In Scotland, on Halloween, 2 hazel nuts are given the names of lovers and put into the embers of the fire. If they burn quietly and stay together, the lovers will remain together. But if they crack and move apart they are ill matched. Hazel nuts are also considered good luck, and said to increase fertility. New brides were often given strings of hazel nut as gifts.

Ancient sailors also wore crowns of woven hazel twigs called wishing caps. These caps offered protection against bad storms at sea. The ancient druids believed that that if you wore such a crown you could become invisible.

This wood is also good for crafting wands and record of them can be found in ancient Egyptian and Chaldean records. According to Greek myth Apollo gave a hazel wand to Mercury. With it Mercury was able to instill good virtues into mankind.

HAZEL PEOPLE
If you are a hazel person you should pay attention to your own natural rhythm. It is easy for you to be impatient and you should sit back and let thing s happen naturally. You will be much happier. Hazel people are also understanding, moody, honest and tolerant partners and have excellent ideas of right and wrong.

Choosing Hazel or Hazelnut as a magickal name represents someone who is wise and experienced.
