As human beings we really do rely on each other. There are many situations where we have no choice but to trust each other. When we drive on the freeway, for example, we trust that each driver will adhere to the traffic laws and do his or her best to avoid an accident. We trust that when we wait for a bus, that the bus will show up approximately when the schedule says it will do so. Parents trust schools to educate their children, and schools trust parents to get the kids to school on time. Customers trust businesses to provide the products they need, and business trust their customers to keep coming back when they give good service. Love makes the world go ‘round, but trust definitely makes society go ’round!

I made the proto-type for this clementine cake by digging through the kitchen to see what we had. My seven-year-old son adored it. This is the second iteration and I found it’s a winner. The whole fruit and whole flour provide a decent amount of nutrition for a dessert. The texture came out surprising smooth. Enjoy.

Ah, science! It had a whole different meaning to me when I was in high school and had to memorize the periodic table. Now I look at science as these amazing discoveries that lead us to the truth. It’s not such a big leap from spirituality to science. We can see all of the miracles that exist under a microscope, or through a telescope. And right here we are living miracles, every moment. In the movie “What the Bleep Do We Know?” several scientists weigh in on the facts of our existence, and what is happening all around us, all the time.
