Draw from the sullen clay red peonies,
Bring back the sun as a stripling full of laughter!

Spirituality & Healing: 3 Ways to Reduce Commitment Overload
There’s one of those expressions going around, the kind printed on signs, keychains and pillows: Let whatever you do today be enough. I want it to be enough, but it feels like there is always three times as much to do as can possibly get done in 24 hours. Feeling chronically overwhelmed is a signal that it’s time to reduce your commitments. Other symptoms may include backing out of plans, being perpetually exhausted, or not having time to devote to self-care. Let’s look at some radical ways to climb out from under the heap of commitments

MNN: What can wolf packs teach us about being better humans?
Where once humans regarded wolves as a fearsome foe, more of us now see them through another lens. Dog lovers recognize our pets’ ancestors when they see wolves at play, while ecologists see the positive impact of a top predator on an entire ecosystem. There’s more respect and understanding of wolves, but there’s still plenty of misconception.

Pioneer Thinking: Hawthorn Berry – The Heart Herb
Ancient Greeks used hawthorn berries for heart disease. The Greeks and Romans looked to hawthorn as a source of happiness and hope for the future. The berries were used by the Chinese for digestion and circulatory problems. Christian legend says that the crown of thorns that was placed upon the head of Christ was made from hawthorn. The crushed fruit or leaves were used as a poultice for their drawing powers to remove thorns and splinters for centuries in England. Native Americans believed that hawthorn was useful for rheumatism and heart problems.

Patheos-Pagan: Misconceptions About Shadow Work
In the writings of Carl Jung, the Shadow is not purely positive or negative. While it contains a lot of really negative things about ourselves that we don’t want to look at, it’s not just purely negative things. It’s simply the parts of ourselves that we’re disowning or unconscious of that are outside of the light of our consciousness, or rather the Shadow of our consciousness.

Inner Journey: Seek Union Over Separation
“Beliefs separate. Loving thoughts unite.”
— Paul Ferrini
Our ego focuses on how we are different from the rest of the world. We connect with soul when we experience how we are the same.
Any time you separate yourself from other people or from situations, you know your personality is in control. At such times, shift your perspective to build connection and you will move into soul.
“As a holistic being you shatter the illusion of your separateness and reveal your connection to everything. This empowers you in a way that the ego-driven self could never contemplate.”
— Wayne Dyer

A Note from the Universe
If everyone really knew how much they were loved not only from “above,” but by everyone now in their life, there’d be little hearts drawn on everything from wheelbarrows to skyscrapers to jumbo jets.
And I so look forward to that day.
Big heart,
The Universe

Beliefnet: 6 ways To Adapt to Change
A man loses his job. A woman discovers her boyfriend was cheating on her. Another person discovered he has cancer at 49. We don’t like change. In fact, just thinking about the possibility of change gives some people the chills. No matter what, change makes us feel miserable and if we could high-tail from it, we would and frequently do. We are creatures of habit and feeling a sense of security is normal and when we are knocked on our butts with horrible news–we take a dive into a foreign land.
