Lady Brigid, help me to kindle my sacred spark and warm the seeds in my care! ~Cat

22: Good Morning my Little Seedlings, today is Imbolc, Candlemas, the Festival of Light. The Universe is asking us to embrace the faith we have in ourselves and in the new beginnings, this faith brings. Imbolc is a time of renewal and our number for today is one power and purpose. Just like the first signs of spring we push towards the light in an effort to grow. As we reach towards this light our faith empowers us to find fulfillment in achieving our dreams and goals. Don’t force to make things happen. This is another lesson that we can learn from nature. Grow with purpose yet allow things to unfold. By doing so we achieve an overall sense of balance which restores us to harmony. Take time today to reaffirm your faith and where you are on your path as you move into this new cycle. Open your mind and heart and guide your thought seeds toward the light.
Today’s Spirit Helpers include:
The celebration of Imbolc honors the Celtic goddess Brigid. This Triple Goddess of flame and light helps us to purify ourselves and our thoughts. She also promotes inspiration, creativity and the fertility needed to help our thought seeds grow and flourish. She tells us “Today we begin a journey towards the light. Gather the seeds that you have collected and choose the ones that best represent your path. Tell me of your dreams and desires as you plant your seeds within your heart and mind and allow fire and light to fill you. Hope and optimism shine like the sun and like the sun they hold powerful energy. This energy will help you find your way as you nurture the seeds in your care”
Archangel Ariel helps us to embrace our own divine magick which strengthens our manifestation process. Since she works with the earth and environment (nature angels and sprite too) she can help those unfamiliar with the Sacred Feminine work connect with her
The Ascended Master Maitreya (Laughing Buddha) helps us to find peace and harmony through laughter, this gives us a clear perspective and keeps our energy flowing. He tells us that laughter is sacred and when the heart is alive with joy we are connected to the Infinite and filled with Nirvana-essence. Center your mind with the intent of enjoying yourself and you will find yourself centered in the moment. Enjoy what life has to offer and enjoy the process!
Sacred Stones associated with Imbolc include the following:
Amethyst helps us to make decisions by promoting common sense and spiritual insight. It also enables us to set realistic goals and sets us on the road to personal achievement. This crystal is a powerful protector and helps to shield us from unwanted energies while dispelling anxiety and fear. It helps the thought process by providing focus and clearing the way to good decision making.
Bloodstone gives us the ability to adapt to the changes that are taking place more easily. It strengthens our intuition and promotes good decision making. It gets our creativity flowing and infuses our being with courage and vitality.
Carnelian is used for motivation and increased creativity. It teaches us to trust in ourselves and helps us find creative solutions to current issues as it boosts self-esteem and invites us to embrace our personal power while promoting positive life choices which enhance our ability to draw new forms of prosperity and abundance.
Blessings for a magickal day! Cat

The incoming energies are both unpredictable and volatile as they move to shift, change and transform our world. As the old framework of our reality continues to dissolve energetic storms will sweep the planet altering and impacting our rapidly expanding consciousness.
Most people who want to use crystals have a particular purpose in mind. Although some families of minerals are more likely to yield the desired result, not all specimens from the same family have similar properties, whether physical (such as fluorescence) or metaphysical (such as healing). Additionally, not everyone reacts the same way when exposed to a crystal.

Inner Journey: EXPLORE YOUR FEARS
“Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is in illness, because illness contains information, our fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if we explore them.” — Marilyn Ferguson
In our world of duality, fear and love sit at opposite ends of the continuum. Fear belongs only to the personality because it believes in separation and impermanence. The soul never knows fear because it understands the unity of all.
When fear arises, we can invite our soul to sit with our frightened personality. What soul energies are waiting to be acknowledged? When we bring higher energies into the presence of lower energies, the lower energies are transformed.
“What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it, learn about it, come directly into contact with it. We are to learn about fear, not how to escape from it.” — Jiddu Krishnamurti

Self-Awareness “When one is pretending the entire body revolts.”
-Anais Nin
Self-awareness means also being in touch with the signals that our body gives us. We might try to “fake it” on the outside, but we can’t fool ourselves. The body doesn’t lie. When we get stressed out it can show up in our stomach, or our back, or as a headache. We can use those signals to give our body what it needs to come back into balance – whether it’s a glass of water, a massage, or a nap!

Inner Journey: NO JUDGMENT
Everything in life holds both a blessing and a curse. We deny this when we label the events of our lives as either good or bad. The following old Zen story illustrates this lesson most effectively.
A farmer had a horse but one day, the horse ran away and so the farmer and his son had to plow their fields themselves. Their neighbors said, “Oh, what bad luck that your horse ran away!” But the farmer replied, “Bad luck, good luck, who knows?”
The next week, the horse returned to the farm, bringing a herd of wild horses with him. “What wonderful luck!” cried the neighbors, but the farmer responded, “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?”
Then, the farmer’s son was thrown as he tried to ride one of the wild horses, and he broke his leg. “Ah, such bad luck,” sympathized the neighbors. Once again, the farmer responded, “Bad luck, good luck, who knows?”
A short time later, the ruler of the country recruited all young men to join his army for battle. The son, with his broken leg, was left at home. “What good luck that your son was not forced into battle!” celebrated the neighbors. And the farmer remarked, “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?”

A Note from the Universe
Hey! I’ve been looking over all my old photos, and yes, you guessed it, you look absolutely smashing. But honestly, if you don’t mind me saying so, you’re never as beautiful in a photograph—mine or anyone else’s—as you are in person. Not even close.
The odd quiver of your lip, the sparkle in your eye, and the hidden question mark, sometimes, when you smile. The confidence behind your laughter, the concern behind your tears, and the unpredictability of your wit. The reassurance of your glance, the easiness of your presence, and the “junk in your trunk.” I wouldn’t change one single thing. But you guessed that, too, huh?
Isn’t it strange, though, how some still expect to see all that when looking at a photo of themselves, or just staring, motionless, into a mirror?

When life throws crisis at us, it can turn our lives upside down. Personally I have found myself feeling my own emotions and those of others as I strive to move through all of the changes we are facing. As Witches, we can rely on our magickal skills to support us.
“We live in a culture that is greatly biased against the imagination, because our culture is very materialistic, objective and literal. Our culture lacks soul, and doesn’t know it, although it experiences the consequences. When you don’t know what’s missing, then of course you don’t know what to bring in, even though you feel something is missing.
“We live in a world that needs more soul, more meaning. We, as conscious beings, have, as our primary responsibility, at this time in human history, the task of bringing soul into the world, or releasing soul into the world. We do this, first of all, in ourselves and in our own personal world; then we do it in our groups – including family; then we do it in our society through our work, relationships and presence there.”

During a storm, a tree may lose a branch, one that may have been weakened and is no longer needed and they shed leaves, discarding what they have outgrown and no longer beneficial. The tree accepts these changes as part of life and continues to grow. See yourself as a tree. There’s one of those expressions going around, the kind printed on signs, keychains and pillows: Let whatever you do today be enough. Feeling chronically overwhelmed is a signal that it’s time to reduce your commitments. Other symptoms may include backing out of plans, being perpetually exhausted, or not having time to devote to self-care. MNN: What can wolf packs teach us about being better humans?
Where once humans regarded wolves as a fearsome foe, more of us now see them through another lens. Ancient Greeks used hawthorn berries for heart disease. The Greeks and Romans looked to hawthorn as a source of happiness and hope for the future. The berries were used by the Chinese for digestion and circulatory problems. Christian legend says that the crown of thorns that was placed upon the head of Christ was made from hawthorn. Native Americans believed that hawthorn was useful for rheumatism and heart problems.

In the writings of Carl Jung, the Shadow is not purely positive or negative. While it contains a lot of really negative things about ourselves that we don’t want to look at, it’s not just purely negative things. It’s simply the parts of ourselves that we’re disowning or unconscious of that are outside of the light of our consciousness, or rather the Shadow of our consciousness.
“Beliefs separate. Loving thoughts unite.”

Our ego focuses on how we are different from the rest of the world. We connect with soul when we experience how we are the same.

About Cat’s Morning Bits: These daily post are reblogged from various email newsletters that I receive each day.
So I admit to being a tree-hugger. Mother Earth is our home and as such must be cared for and taken care of. There is an important lesson in today quote. Animals only take what they need to survive, man takes until he destroys. The earth has been entrusted to the stewardship of man and we are failing. The point is that we have to take care of “our world” not just for us but for ALL her creatures. If we don’t mankind will have no home at all. The ideal world is a place where man and nature coexist without destroying each other. My “native-ness” may be showing here but living in harmony and walking in beauty would be a good start.
