We all have memories of places, people and events, some of them are good, some are bad and some are bittersweet. Our quote today is a reminder about letting our current lives and situations be ruled by our past. By taking steps every day to move past those memories that bring us pain we open the door to new things that will become new memories and while there are things that will never be forgotten we should strive to learn the lesson it taught us and use the lesson to help create something new and better.
Welcome to a new year and a new decade! Resolve to make this your best year ever and focus on creating your best self. Leave drama behind, spend time on the things that really matter and don’t struggle with things you can’t control. Make this the year of “Let It Be” and remind yourself that you are loved and worthy of amazing things!
Whatever you have gone through or are going through helps build who you are, these are our struggles. Our thought for today reminds us not to allow our struggles to become our identity… who we are. Every struggle is a lesson. In every lesson is a choice. We must choose to either become our struggle or learn from it and use those lessons to build who we want to be.
Happiness comes from within. It cannot be bought and it’s not about how many “things” you have. Happiness is not given to us by others it’s about how we feel about ourselves and the things we do that bring us joy. Happiness comes from creating it for yourself.

There is an important lesson to be found in today’s quote. We can all find at least one irritating thing about the people we know. But why do these things bother us? If we take the time to examine the irritations, and be honest with ourselves, we most often find that what irritates us about others are things that we ourselves are guilty of as well. Talking too much, lack of compassion, being a know-it-all, being self absorbed, bragging and one upmanship, I think you get the idea. By being honest with ourselves and acknowledging these things in ourselves we gain a better understanding and tolerance of others. If we don’t like something about ourselves we can work to change it. Striving to be a better person can help us teach through example. Be an inspiration to others as well as yourself!
