We are often guilty of being our own worst critic. Something is offered to us (an opportunity, a relationship, a challenge etc) and instead of embracing it as an adventure we allow our  inner “Tiny Critic’ to step forward and dictate what we can do.  Feeling fearful, or nervous about new things is normal, however while these feelings should be acknowledged they should not be allowed to rule our lives and keep us from doing the things that will change our lives.

Comfort zones, we all have them. Some folks enjoy doing new things, meeting new people and just plain putting themselves out there. Then there are others who are afraid to take that first step. If we never take that first step we are separating ourselves from life and the amazing things it has to offer. Our challenge for today is to be  your own superhero and take that first step (yes, baby steps count). I know you can do it and I believe in you , and yes there are others who believe in you too!

Happy Monday,

Making mistakes is a part of life, it’s how we learn and grow.  Don’t get me wrong, there are people out there who keep making the same mistakes over and over. They never seem to grow or get any smarter. There are also people who fear making mistakes because they are afraid of looking dumb, so they simply don’t try. These people don’t grow either. Pretty sad right? Then there are the rest of us mistake making people. If we try and fail we learn valuable lessons. These lessons we put to good use when we try again. Yep… sometimes we have to try more than once, sometimes two or three times even. The point is that we come out smarter… kind of like going to school!
