Are you afraid to be yourself? Are you concerned that if you “be yourself” that other people will think less of you or not like you? (It’s not true you know…)Sadly there are a lot of people out there who feel this way. No one is perfect and everyone is unique. There will always be someone who wants you to be what/who you’re not. These people often don’t have your best interest at heart, they just want to make you over into what they think you should be. Always be yourself, that uniquely beautiful soul with the weird sense of humor, and individual style! Rock it baby!

Letting go of people is never easy. But sometimes you just need to cut the cord, so to speak. The truth is that people change and not always in a good way. People who bring you down, keep you down, hate the world,  or cause continuous drama can wreak havoc on our emotions and hearts. This can cause us stress and anxiety that we simply don’t need. Remember, you deserve better and your sanity is worth it!

Are you the same person you were 10 years ago? 5 years….. 1 year? I know that I’m not and I’m pretty sure that you aren’t either! As we get older our perspectives change and the trivial things lose their importance and we are able to embrace the person we are  and the person we are striving to be. Pretty cool huh?

Today we honor those who fought and still fight for our freedom. Freedom isn’t free and there will always be a cost to having it. I hope that you will take a moment today and say a prayer for those who gave/give their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have. Not all countries are this fortunate.

Happiness is a choice. Since we are faced with choices everyday, what to wear, where to have lunch, who to spend time with or talk to, so why wouldn’t we choose to be happy? There will always be annoyances and drama that surround us, this happens to everyone. The point is that we shouldn’t let negative things rule our entire day. Choose to be happy and refuse to give your power to negatives.

Thought For The Day: May 24, 2018 “Your Word”

Happy Thursday,

When we give someone our word and commit to something its up to us to make sure it happens. We have all been on the receiving end of a broken promise or commitment. When it happens we feel let down, at loose ends or even betrayed. Everyone makes promises but not everyone keeps them. My father use to say “A man is only as good as his word”. By keeping our word it shows our personal integrity and true character. It tells other people that we are worthy of the trust they put in us and that we truly value them. If you can’t commit to something, for whatever reason, don’t. Be honest because people will appreciate that more than a broken commitment.
