Spirit Library: The weary human, Bouncing back from the bumps and bruises of the journey (Sonia Barrett)
Life as a human being is an insatiable experience despite it being an emotional wild ride. To say the least, it is profound, mysterious, exhilarating and maddening all at once! Being alive is addicting, we want more despite the ups and downs. Then there are those times when we are simply weary and it all becomes too much, yet we hang on for dear life

Herbal Muse: Turmeric Generates New Brain Cells
More than one million adults in the U.S. are diagnosed with a chronic brain disease or disorder each year. This includes Alzheimer’s, stroke and Parkinson’s, which affect aging adults the most. Adhering to a healthy lifestyle and a diet abundant in “brain foods” like flavonoid-rich berries and antioxidants from herbs and green tea, can go a long way to keep your grey matter in good working order. Score big for engaging in mental exercises, like reading and crossword puzzles, too. But scientists now believe that an aromatic compound in turmeric root may hold the key to the recovery of brain function through the generation of new stem cells.

EarthSky News: Watch for the waning moon and Jupiter
On the morning of February 26, 2019, the moon will be at or near its last quarter phase – visible in the dawn sky – with its half-illuminated side pointing at bright Jupiter. One day later – on February 27 – look for the wide waning crescent to more closely pair up with Jupiter on the sky’s dome. If you’re up before the sun, you might also see Antares, the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion, near the moon and Jupiter on these mornings

Patheos-Pagan: Magickal Houseplants: It Isn’t Easy Being Green
My world has always been filled with magickal houseplants. Both my parents share a love of all things botanical, and despite growing up in Brooklyn, it was always a true urban jungle for me. Now I have hanging plants, succulents, trees, herbs and more growing in my home.

Inner Journey:
WHO ARE YOU?
“Please… tell me who you are and what you want. And if you think those are simple questions, keep in mind that most people live their entire lives without arriving at an answer.”
— Gary Zukav
How deeply can you answer this question? Please realize that you are the only one who can answer it. No one else can tell you who you are. You must discover this for yourself. And the challenge of knowing ourselves is no easy task.
We hope this question excites rather than intimidates you. There’s so much more to you than you know at present! Isn’t this intriguing? Perhaps it’s time to go exploring.
“Mysterious and intimidating to contemplate, the human brain is the most complex thing there is and the most difficult task it can undertake is to understand itself.”
— David Noonan
“I don’t think God cares where we were graduated or what we did for a living. God wants to know who we are. Discovering this is the work of the soul – it is our true life’s work.”
— Bernie Siegel

Sometimes the best homemade teas don’t involve steeping dried tea leaves. This version uses fresh slices of fruit, cinnamon and rose petals. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it tastes and smells absolutely divine

Perfection
“Perhaps the crescent moon smiles in doubt
at being told that it is a fragment
awaiting perfection.”
-Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)
I love this! Tagore has such a way with words. Imagine that moon, shining so brightly and proudly – knowing that it is what it is and that it is absolutely perfect just the way it is. Is there anything missing? Not a chance! Can we see our lives in the same light? They are perfect just the way they are right here and right now.
