We tend to forget that solution to our problems never happen all at once. Fear and impatience and two of the major causes of anxiety and stress. In my Daily Angel Messages ( available on The Desert Path) we talk about “Baby Steps” and how they can help us to achieve our goals. Today’s Recipe: Purple Sweet Potato Pie

I’m sure many of you have had sweet potato pie. This pie is very similar but uses purple sweet potatoes. Baking the sweet potatoes in the oven (in lieu of boiling them) gives this a beautiful creamy consistency and not at all watered down. Baking them also retains their beautiful purple colour. Purple sweet potatoes can be found in grocery stores labeled as Okinawan, Hawaiian, or purple sweet potatoes. They are packed full of potassium, B6, vitamin C, and fiber.

The truth is that bad things happen.  Keep in mind that bad things are like a swamp and it’s easy to get stuck in them. Now we’ve all heard that “everything happens for a reason” and that “there is a lesson to be learned from every situation whether it’s good or bad.” Both of these statements are true as well. Sometimes we just need a little wake up call to remind us of the blessings we have in our lives. As always, we have choices. We can allow ourselves to be sucked into the “Swamp of Bad Things” or we can carefully skirt the edges and look for at least one good thing as we work our way around them.
