This Solstice packs some pretty powerful energy and by tapping into this power source we can boost our own powers of manifestation. The key is to believe in yourself as well as the creator. The stronger our belief is the more we are able to clearly see the blessings and miracles around us. Even the small everyday ones become clearer, which are more important by far. The ancient Romans honored the goddess Fortuna on this day and this is a good time to acknowledge the blessings you have as well as the ones that are coming.

620: We are receiving a big boost of energy as we head into tomorrow, which will be the Summer Solstice (Litha/Midsummer). This is the official beginning of summer and the longest day of the year. This event is charged with amazing energy and by tapping into this power source we can increase our power of manifestation. The key to success lies in faith and belief in yourself and the Divine Source. The stronger our belief the more clearly we see the blessings and miracles that surround us. This includes the “Tiny Miracles”, which are often more important than the big shiny ones. Today the angels are asking us to embrace the divine magick of the Universe and carry it over into tomorrow’s event.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Jophiel teaches us to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us. Taking the time to simply breathe and absorb “beauty” it can help open our communication lines by lowering the barriers we have put up.

619: When we become stressed or worried about material matters we tend to place our lives on hold or even go full-frontal freaky. Being aware of our situation is good but allowing worry to rule your life is not. The truth is that worry only magnifies the stress that you are feeling, so much so that you can become overwhelmed by it. The other unfortunate side effect is that it blocks our power of manifestation. Today the Universe is reminding us to continue the work we’ve been doing to upgrade our thought patterns. Remember that you are in charge of creating your own reality. Accept help where and when it is offered and keep an open mind. Take some time today and acknowledge your blessings and you will realize just how “wealthy” you really are!

Archangel Zadkiel helps to heal our hearts and minds so that accepting support in all forms is easier. He also promotes compassion for ourselves and others while helping us to find things that we have lost, forgotten about or set aside. Today the angels are letting us know that we are on the right track and that our potential for creating and drawing good things into our lives is growing. Focus is the key and we will need to stay anchored in the present moment and stay aware of what’s going on around us. If we allow ourselves to wander off into La-La Land we could miss out on something that we’ve been waiting for or the next piece of the puzzle that will allow us to build to the next level. Litha/ Summer Solstice Correspondences

Litha (lee-thah) – June 21st

Lesser Sabbat / Quarter Day

The celebration of Litha takes place on the Summer Solstice and is a time of fertility and love. This day is also called Mid-Summers Eve, Summer Solstice, St. John the Baptist Day, and Mean Samhraidh. This Sabbat marks the official first day of summer although for pagans summer starts on Beltane and ends at Lughnasadh. This places Litha at the mid-point of summer, hence the name “Mid-Summer”. According to the old calendars, days were marked from evening to evening. Therefore traditional celebrations would begin at sunset on the day prior to the Sabbat. On the wheel of the year, Litha is the opposite of Yule, which is the shortest day. Mid-Summer celebrations were also observed by the Romans. They honored the goddess Fortuna and it was a day of drinking and fun.

Litha celebrates the bounty of summer. The youthful energy that we saw at Beltane has ripened into maturity as the courtship of the Goddess and God solidifies into marriage. The first fruits and vegetables have ripened and the first flowers of spring have given way to the lush fertile growth of summer. As nature moves toward the bounty of the harvest ahead, we must place our trust in the sun and rain to do their part in the continuation of the growing season. This time is sacred to the Sun King, his power is at its strongest and he is in his prime and at the peak of his strength. The Goddess is also at her finest, she is becoming a mother and with each passing day, her pregnancy becomes more apparent. Lord and Lady walk hand in hand glorying in their love for each other and the new life they have created.

This Sabbat is also vibrantly alive with the magic of the Faerie Realm. Like Samhain the veil between the worlds is thin and the Sidhe join in mortal revelries. Strange things happen when the Sidhe are loose in the world and it is easy to catch a glimpse of them. You can find them dancing among the flowers, trees, and faerie rings and it is a time for merriment and making wishes.

Activities for Litha include gathering herbs like mugwort. This herb is traditionally gathered today and girls would make wreaths to wear and hang in the home. Fire also plays an important part in this Sabbat. Lit torches were carried through the fields to ward off swarms of insects and other bad things that could negatively affect the upcoming harvest. In Germanic lands, small lanterns were lit and then set afloat on rivers and other bodies of water as offerings for a bountiful harvest. Bonfires were built and were generally attended by all and in many places, the hearth fires were put out and relit from the Litha bonfire. It is also a good time to clear out old negative and unwanted energies from your life and your home. Healing rites and spells of protection are also favorable at this time.

Litha is a glorious time, one made for the celebration of all nature, the power of the god, the goddess, and the new life she carries, and the joy of just living

Litha or Midsummer, a time of bonfires, mugwort, mythical beings, nights and days of mischief and love. The veil is thin. The Celts, the Norse and the Slavs believed that there were three ‘spirit nights’ in the year when magic ran amok and the Otherworld was near. The first was Halloween, the second was May Eve and the third was Midsummer Eve. All sorts of enchantments are in the air now and Spirits and Fairies abound. What follows here are some of them. These are not your good fairies but tricksters and darker spirits.

Today’s Message: It’s About Perspective

617: We hear a lot about positive affirmations and how using them can transform our lives and our thinking patterns. Now before you start rolling your eyes and thinking “Geez Cat, I don’t have time for affirmations….” here’s something to think about. Every time you alter a thought pattern from negative to positive you’ve created a personal affirmation. It’s as simple as changing “That’s never going to happen for me.” to “What I can I do to make this happen? or This will happen for me”. As I said yesterday, negative thinking blocks our powers of manifestation (and our flow of energy). This upsets our balance (see June’s Theme) and hits us with temporary setbacks. Today the angels are asking us to watch our thought patterns and change negatives into positives. Perform a balance check and ground and center if needed. Your reality is how you perceive it so be confident and move forward in your own power.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Raguel sets us on the path to personal empowerment. He helps us to find our strength and promotes clarity when we feel conflicted about what to do next by providing a boost of energy and by bringing order to our thoughts. He empowers the underdog and also acts as a motivational coach when we feel down on ourselves and can help us to reach our full potential.

The Chinese Goddess Kuan Yin, who embodies compassion and mercy says, “You are a beautiful soul and have so much to offer. I can guide you on the path of self-love and help you to embrace the confidence you need to free your mind, heart, and spirit. Be gentle with yourself.
