MBG: 17 Spiritual Principles To Help You Overcome Impostor Syndrome
I met my spiritual teacher in Nepal on my 27th birthday. In the midst of a 30-day meditation retreat, I was one of five attendees granted the honor of meeting this lama. As I sat in his waiting chamber, my excitement was buried under overwhelming sensations of fear and self-doubt. All I could think about was how he would see me as a fraud. How I wasn’t worthy of his attention. How he would sense my brokenness and send me off.

Daily Good: The Wisdom of South Korea’s Garden Hacking Grandparents
Whether we wake up each morning under eaves beneath trees, or on the top floors of towers among a forest of more towers; whether we walk our children to school through a park, or drive our car down the traffic-clogged streets to the market; whether we…..

Elephant Journal: The Connection between Yin & Yang, the Moon & Menopause.
I am 51 years old and I have finally made it through the most physical aspects of “The Change” as my Mom used to call it.
My skin is healthy again, no more night sweats, the hot flashes have finally ended, and I no longer have my period. Even the huge emotional surges have mellowed with time. Life feels more manageable and my body feels more under my control now.

MNN: Heat wave sparks ‘fairy wind’ in Ireland
A heatwave sweeping through Ireland this week has not only pushed average temperatures well into the 80s, but also increased sightings of “fairy wind” across the country.
This weather phenomenon, more commonly known as a dust devil, occurs during dry conditions when warmer surface air rises quickly to form an updraft.

EarthSky News: What are the full moon names?
Some almanacs like to give each month a special full moon name. Other almanacs like to reference full moons relative to seasonal markers, as defined by equinoxes and solstices. Is one way better than the other? No. Both have their roots in folklore. Of course, both the monthly names and the seasonal names necessarily favor either the Northern or Southern Hemisphere

Patheos-Pagan: Ritual of Life-Passages
History is amoral: events occurred. But memory is moral: what we consciously remember is what our conscience remembers- Anne Michaels
Rituals of life stages, often called rites of transition or rites of passage are the ones that mark significant changes in people’s lives. They are very frequently seen as the “ideal” ritual, and as the pattern that other rituals should follow.

Inner Journey:
EXPERIENCE STILLNESS
“My greatest wealth is the deep stillness in which I strive and grow and win what the world cannot take from me with fire or sword.”
— Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
If our minds are always busy, they don’t get time to do basic maintenance – to sort, tidy up and take out the trash. If we don’t periodically clear out space in our minds, there’s no room for new ideas to take root.
Where do you find stillness each day and each week? Plan for quiet time, relaxation and stillness daily, even if it’s only for 5 or 10 minutes.
“For peace of mind, we need to resign as general manager of the universe.”
— Larry Eisenberg

A Note from the Universe
If you knew how much you have in common with every single person now living in time and space, in terms of your deepest hopes and dreams, fears and worries, you’d wonder how I manage to tell you all apart.
And from this day forward you’d likely think of every single one of them as “dearest,” just as I do.

Today’s Recipe: Hummus
I was just going to say “yum”, and start listing ingredients. But, I guess I could add that hummus is not some mystical, overpriced dish you can only get at fancy restaurants.

Thoughts
“When you rule your mind you rule your world. When you choose your thoughts you choose results.” -Imelda Shanklin
Our minds are so constantly busy that we often forget that we actually have a choice in the matter. We can choose our thoughts! And by choosing our thoughts, we are choosing our experiences and creating our futures. And we need to remember that our reactions are thoughts, also. Instead of letting our emotions ride on auto-pilot, we can choose to take a breath and take inventory rather than giving in to an impulsive reaction. In this way, our thoughts can lead us in a much more productive direction, one that creates solutions rather than problems.

Beliefnet: 7 Tips for Living a More Mindful Life
Many of us spend our days wanting to feel productive and love the idea of checking things off our to-do lists. But we often never feel “caught up”. We tend to keep doing things until we lay our heads on the pillow at night, feeling exhausted and as if we barely survived the day.
