Inner Journey: BRING AWARENESS TO YOUR GENEROSITY

“Generosity lies less in giving much than in giving at the right moment.”
— Jean De La Bruyère

While it’s important to give, it’s also essential that we not give more than we can afford. Only you can determine the appropriate amount of time or money you can give away, but it should not cause you hardship. We need to respect our own needs as well as the needs of others.

When do you give more than you can afford?

“Generosity is another quality which, like patience, letting go, non-judging, and trust, provides a solid foundation for mindfulness practice. You might experiment with using the cultivation of generosity as a vehicle for deep self-observation and inquiry as well as an exercise in giving.”
— Jon Kabat Zinn

Light

“Science and art may invent splendid modes of illuminating the apartments of the opulent; but these are all poor and worthless compared with the light which the sun pours freely, impartially, over hill and valley, which kindles daily the eastern and western sky; and so the common lights of reason and conscience and love are of more worth and dignity than the rare endowments which give celebrity to a few.”

-William Ellery Channing (1780-1842)

Harvest Gratitude: Cat’s Angel Message for September 22, 2020

Harvest Gratitude: Cat’s Angel Message for September 22, 2020

September’s Theme: “What Do I Want?” This is a question that we often ask ourselves. So as we head into Autumn and the time of introspection ask yourself that very question.

_______________________________

Harvest gratitude and fill your basket with what you have accomplished and grown in this cycle. ~Cat

_______________________________

922: Today is the Autumn Equinox, Mabon or Harvest Home to those of us who follow the pagan traditions. Gratitude is our keyword and it goes hand in hand with this seasonal celebration. Faith is part of gratitude, and the stronger our faith the more we manifest and the more we have to be grateful for. This is a good time to perform a self check and think about the gifts and miracles that have blessed your life so far this year. By looking back we can see how far we have come from spring and the thought seeds that we planted at that time. Make sure to nurture the “new growth” and to harvest what’s ready now. Embrace your blessings with a grateful heart and affirm that you have faith that they will continue to be abundant in your life.

_____________________________

Today we honor the goddess aspects of the Sacred Feminine. They are the Earth Mothers and Harvest goddesses that are associated with this harvest festival (Demeter, Persephone, Pomona).

Archangel Ariel helps us to embrace our own divine magick which strengthens our manifestation process. Since she works with the earth and environment (nature angels and sprite too) she can help those unfamiliar with the Sacred Feminine work connect with her.

The Ascended Master Mother Mary provides us with all forms of healing. She surrounds us with her gentle energy and helps to fill our hearts with love as she imparts feelings of peace and safety as she gently heals the dark, hidden places within while showing us the path that leads to compassion and forgiveness which are essential to healing ourselves and helping others. She helps to fill our hearts with peace and love and helps everyone regardless of path or religion

The Ascended Master Krishna can also be honored today as we ask him to help us see life’s blessings more clearly.

The Greek goddess Persephone teaches us how to balance between light and dark and the importance of searching the shadows for what is lost or forgotten. Persephone tells us “Don’t be afraid to unearth what lies beneath or has been hidden. By shedding light in dark or weedy places you often find treasures that you had forgotten or set aside. These treasures can form the foundations that you need to navigate your path in life.”

The Irish Goddess Dana helps us to generate abundance through gratitude. She says, “While you wait for these blessings to arrive fill your heart with feelings of abundance. Engage yourself in things that make you feel abundant!” Your energy is also linked to the energy of the Divine. Acknowledge and strengthen this connection as it allows you to handcraft your dreams.”

_______________________________

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

Aquamarine balance’s emotions that can become frayed during the changes that new cycles create. It helps us to move forward and navigate the ebb and flow of life. This stone also shields the aura, aligns the chakras and promotes communication from the higher realms.

Tree Agate (Dendritic) to strengthen your connection to the plant kingdom and help you to enjoy each moment. It is also known as the stone of plenitude and promotes abundance while showing us the “wealth” we already have.

Malachite. Which helps to support friendships and promotes empathy towards others. It also strengthens our ability to absorb and process information so that we can show our feelings in a positive way. Malachite helps those making aggressive personal or life changes. It brings a sense of adventure to our transformation as it shows us what is blocking our spiritual growth and the best way to move forward.

Thought For the Day: Sept. 22, 2020 “A Thought For Mabon”

Happy Tuesday and Blessed Autumn Equinox!

A Thought For Mabon

On this day I am Thankful.
I am thankful for being able to rise and greet the day when there are those who cannot……..
I am thankful for my health and the health of my family, when so many others are sick……
I am thankful for having a home when so many are homeless……….
I am thankful for my family, friends, and pets when so many spend their lives alone………
I am thankful for having a loving spouse when many live with abuse……….
I am thankful for the food on my table when others are starving………
I am thankful for my job when so many are out of work……….
I am thankful for just being here and being able to participate in the adventure called life………
On this day I remember how important it is to give thanks everyday even when it seems like I have nothing to be thankful for
On this day I give thanks for all that I have no matter how small it seems.
On this day I acknowledge how blessed I really am and I give thanks to the people and events in my life that have helped me in the past to be the person I am today……….
I am thankful………………….

Inner Journey: APPRECIATION

“You can never get to peace and inner security without first acknowledging all of the good things in your life. If you’re forever wanting and longing for more without first appreciating things the way they are, you’ll stay in discord.”
— Doc Childre and Howard Martin

Develop an attitude of gratitude. We discover a sense of wholeness as we appreciate both the small and big things in our lives. And it really helps to remember to appreciate ourselves. Appreciation is more than just acceptance — it’s respect and admiration. Let go of criticism and self-abuse.

“Generally, appreciation means some blend of thankfulness, admiration, approval, and gratitude. In the financial world, something that ‘appreciates’ grows in value. With the power tool of appreciation, you get the benefit of both perspectives: as you learn to be consistently thankful and approving, your life will grow in value.”

Light
“Even if our efforts of attention seem for years to be producing no result, one day a light that is in exact proportion to them will flood the room.”

-Simone Weil

Sometimes our spiritual progress is like a dimmer and brighter control – one of those knobs where we can make the light gradually grow brighter. And sometimes it seems like we’re putting in all of this work and nothing is happening. It can be a little frustrating. But something is happening, we just can’t see it yet. It’s like something going on behind-the-scenes, and when the light finally hits us, it’s so bright we have to wear shades!

Where are you not being true to yourself?

Believe in yourself and act on your ideas. Give yourself permission to do what you want with your life. Take the initiative to set meaningful goals for yourself and achieve them. Begin to tell yourself why you CAN have what you want!

Treehugger: 2019 Equinox: 12 facts about the first day of fall

ThoughtCo: Celebrating Mabon With Kids

Mabon falls around September 21 in the northern hemisphere, and around March 21 below the equator. This is the autumn equinox, it’s a time to celebrate the season of the second harvest. It’s a time of balance, of equal hours of light and dark, and a reminder that the cold weather isn’t far away at all.

Magic and Spells for Mabon: Wiccan Spell for Balance

The Wiccan Sabbats are often reserved specifically for celebration rather than magical workings. However, there are times when we have needs, and the Sabbats are particularly powerful times to cast spells.
One big goal in Wicca is to learn to achieve balance in our lives, and sometimes finding a healthy balance can be difficult. Be it internal or external reasons, it’s so easy for problems to push us off balance, and it can be hard to get back again.

EarthSky News: Year’s fastest sunsets around equinoxes

Tonight – at sunset – here’s a natural phenomenon you might never have imagined. That is, the sun actually sets faster around the time of an equinox. The fastest sunsets (and sunrises) occur at or near the equinoxes. And the slowest sunsets (and sunrises) occur at or near the solstices. This is true whether you live in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere.

Patheos-Pagan: Autumn Tide Magic: Holda And Her Releasing Geese

Summer is quickly coming to a close here in the northern hemisphere and all I can think is, “Thank Gods.” If you know me, then you know that I am not a summer person. I don’t do well with the heat and my feelings of depression seem to pop up more frequently during this season than any other (strange, I know!).

Inner Journey:

USE DOWN TIMES TO GOOD ADVANTAGE

“The affairs of the world will go on forever. Do not delay the practice of meditation.”
— Milarepa

In our busy schedules, we can often complain that we don’t have time to meditate. But if we are sincere in our desire to go inside, we can create our own moments of stillness in the midst of our activity.

Stopped at a traffic light? Do some deep breathing. Waiting in line at the bank or grocery store? Repeat an uplifting word such as ‘love’ or ‘peace.’ Riding the bus to and from work? Value these times as an opportunity to close your eyes and go within or to say a little prayer.

“Wherever you go in the midst of movement and activity, carry your stillness within you. Then the chaotic movement around you will never overshadow your access to the reservoir of creativity, the field of pure potentiality.”
— Deepak Chopra

Conscience

“I should love to satisfy all, if I possibly can; but in trying to satisfy all, I may be able to satisfy none. I have, therefore, arrived at the conclusion that the best course is to satisfy one’s own conscience and leave the world to form its own judgment, favorable or otherwise.”

-Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948)

Remember Jiminy Cricket singing “and always let your conscience be your guide.” And I can still hear his little cricket voice from the Disney cartoon, I must have heard that dozens of times when I was a kid. I think the simple explanation I was given at that time was that your conscience would always tell you the right thing to do. If you listened to your conscience, you wouldn’t give in to temptation and do something you would regret later. I may not have understood that completely when I was a child, but I get it now. Sometimes it takes some life experience for us to really learn the lesson. Gandhi is saying here that you can’t please everyone, so you’ve got to please yourself by doing what your conscience tells you is the best thing to do. Then basically let the chips fall where they may.

Be Grateful: Cat’s Angel Message for September 23, 2019

daily Angel Message sms

Be Grateful: Cat’s Angel Message for September 23, 2019

September’s Theme:  Why are we here is a question that we often ask ourselves, and this month we will be exploring our purpose.

It is always a good day to be grateful for all of life – grateful for large blessings and small. Especially to be grateful for the symbolic blessings – the rainbows and butterflies that come into our lives when we least expect and most need them. – Jonathan Lockwood Huie

923: Today is the Autumn Equinox, Mabon or Harvest Home to those of us who follow the pagan traditions.

Today we honor the goddess aspects of the Sacred Feminine. They are the Earth Mothers and Harvest goddesses that are associated with this harvest festival (Demeter, Persephone, Pomona).

  • The Roman Goddess Abundantia teaches us to appreciate abundance in its many forms as well as attract them. She tells us, ” Your faith in the bounty of the universe serves you well. Cast aside your worry and embrace the richness of your life because you have so much to grateful for.”
  • Archangel Haniel showers us with stardust, illuminating our thoughts and memories so that we can remember what magickal beings we truly are, which assists us in the creation process. In turn, this shows us how to receive with grace and gratitude. This process accelerates when we allow beauty and harmony to surround us. It’ helps us to enjoy ourselves which makes blessings easier to receive.
  • The Ascended Master Krishna can also be honored today as we ask him to help us see life’s blessings more clearly.

Our Sacred Stones for today include:

  •  Larimar helps us to see the things that we have to be grateful for and the tiny miracles that we take for granted. This sky blue stone also helps to ease our obsession for material things and shows us how to put things into perspective so that you manifest what you really need. It shows us how to go with the flow.
  • Tiger’s Eye helps build a bridge between you and your power. It shows us the correct way to use our power and invites our integrity forward. It is also a stone of abundance and draws good things to us while helping us see the blessings we have.
  • Green Quartz helps attract abundance in all forms and increases our powers of perception so that we can see the “Tiny Miracles” more clearly.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

Thought For The Day: Sept. 23, 2019 ” Fall Is Here”

Happy Harvest Home!

Fall is officially here, it’s time for bonfires, sweaters, and cooler weather. The Autumn Equinox also called Mabon and Harvest Home is a time to reflect back on what we have accomplished so far this year and our own personal growth. A little Fall cleaning is also in order as we sweep away the things that didn’t quite work for us.

Bright Blessings ~ Cat

Mabon Lore & Correspondences

mabon1

Autumn Equinox / Mabon / Harvest Home: On or around September 21st. MAY-bon, MAY-bun, MAY-bone, MAH-boon or MAH-bawn, – Lesser Sabbat

This year Mabon is on Monday, September 23

Other Names:  Second Harvest Festival, Witches’ Thanksgiving, Harvest Home (Anglo-Celtic), Feast of Avalon, Wine Harvest, Festival of Dionysus, Cornucopia, Equinozio di Autunno (Strega), Chung Chiu (China), Night of the Hunter, Alban Elfed “The Light of the Water”(Caledonii/ Druidic-celebrates Lord of the Mysteries), Winter Finding (Teutonic, from Equinox ’til Winter Night or Nordic New Year, Oct 15th.)

Mabon is the second harvest festival and like the Vernal Equinox night and day are once again equal. It is the Pagan day of Thanksgiving and is a time to honor the changing season and to give thanks for the bounty and abundance in our lives. It celebrates the wine/grape harvest and when our ancestors began the final preparations for the coming winter. The essence and energy is mellow and filled with gratitude and feelings of security. Mabon also honors aging deities and the spirit world. Considered a time of balance, it is when we stop and relax and enjoy the fruits of our personal harvests, whether they be from toiling in our gardens, working at our jobs, raising our families, or just coping with the hustle-bustle of everyday life. May your Mabon be memorable, and your hearts and spirits are filled to overflowing!
