OM Times: Learning to Love Your Shadow Self
This article presents a somewhat different perspective on transforming what is known as our shadow self. The process described here is based on the work of Carl Jung as well as some of internal family systems concepts and then my own experiences in personal growth work.

A Bountiful Moment: Re-confirming Our Commitments
No I am not throwing away my shot.
Lin-Manuel Miranda,Hamilton
If you have not had the opportunity to see the play Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda, please try to do so, or at least download the music. This play gives testament to what can be accomplished by living your life fully in the moment without abandon or regret. Or at least that is a piece of what I got out of it. Not throwing away your shot is something you need to ascribe to everyday knowing that this is it, you have one shot in life. Live it to the fullest without apology.
Take today to re-confirm your goals and/or commitments. Make clear choices about what you want. Put that into action without apology. Act as if there is no tomorrow only today. What choices would you be making?
Have a Great Day and Believe in Yourself!

An analysis of a dinosaur egg nest helped solve the age-old riddle of which came first. Canadian researchers reported that eggs came before chickens, because dinosaurs were forming bird-like nests and laying bird-like eggs long before birds (including chickens) evolved from dinosaurs, according to the research published in the journal Palaeontology in 2008.

The One Tweak That Makes Plant Care WAY More Fun
Sword ferns hung from the ceiling and massive monsteras crept into the frame when we caught up with Jenna Holmes in her lush Melbourne space. The green thumb and self-proclaimed Plant Mama makes a living dishing up stunning interior plant designs for an expansive Aussie clientele, and we got her on Skype to snag some of her top tips. Here are the highlights to help you start your own indoor jungle:

“Imagine a hot tub for the mind. That is what meditation is; it can bathe your mind in relaxing thoughts.”
With today’s fast pace of life, too many of us don’t have any sense of how it feels to be free of stress. It’s difficult to relax if we have physical pain or irritation, strong negative emotions or scattered, worrisome thoughts.
The practice of meditation helps us find the peace within that is so elusive in our outer world.
“Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths, or the turning inwards in prayer for five short minutes.”

When the challenges of someone else’s life have you tied in knots it usually means it’s time to start focusing on your own life.
Doesn’t that feel better?

Cranberry Brie Walnut Cups
This recipe is my effort in getting rid of the last of all the cranberry sauce that piled up in my house from all the holiday and new year dinners. These caramelized cups are so easy to make and taste absolutely elegant. When the brie and walnuts heat up together, they make a soft center with a delicious crispy topping you will go crazy for. Give this a try!

“Excellence is not an act but a habit. The things you do the most are the things you will do best.”
It would be easy if talent was all it took for us to achieve excellence. But it doesn’t work that way. On “American Idol” there are many singers with talent. But the ones who have the most experience really stand out. The experience of singing for people over and over again hones their skills, and when the competition day comes, their excellence shows. We even see how week after week, each of the singers seems to get better. They’re in an environment where they are focusing their energies and spending their time to cultivating excellence.

Brewery’s edible 6-pack rings protect marine animals
A recent study found that 90 percent of seabirds have eaten plastic, and a lot of that plastic comes from the rings that hold together six-packs of beer, soda and other beverages. The marine life that lives in the oceans ingest plastics, too. These toxic plastics harm the health of our sea life, often killing them.
