A Safe Haven: Cat’s Angel Message for September 19, 2020

A Safe Haven: Cat’s Angel Message for September 19, 2020

September’s Theme: “What Do I Want?” This is a question that we often ask ourselves. So as we head into Autumn and the time of introspection ask yourself that very question.

919: Making your home a safe haven filled with loving, healing energy is essentially a form of service and our focus for today is in the creation of a peaceful and healthy living environment. This starts at home and the angels are asking us to create a peaceful realm that we can look forward to entering at the end of the day. Home is our sanctuary that provides a respite from outside stress for both you and your loved ones. Maybe it’s time to do some space clearing, make peace with a family member, make a comfort meal or even do a little fall cleaning. Remember that being of service starts at home with one person at a time. Little things matter and quite often make the biggest impact.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Zadkiel teaches us that true compassion and healing lies in our ability to forgive ourselves and others. This is essential to the letting go and letting it be processes as it allows our hearts and minds to make room and teaches us to just breathe and embrace compassion which in turn makes room for new growth. This is one of the best self-healing practices and gifts that we can give ourselves.

The Ascended Master El Morya supports all who give of themselves in service of others and he shows us how to stay committed to our own growth so that we can heal and teach those in need. He reminds us that it is our faith that keeps us grounded so that we can embrace both the patience and the clear decision making needed to make things happen.

The Roman Goddess Vesta who oversees hearth and home. She helps us to clear space (both in our physical home and our inner home) to make room for new things and teaches us the value of letting go of what we no longer need. ” If something does not make your heart sing put it where it belongs or set it free. This will clear your inner and outer sacred space. Then open the doors and invite the new blessings inside.”

It helps to promote the softer, move loving view that we need to embrace gratitude, it soothes and clears the emotions and fills us with loving compassion. It works with the heart chakra to gently wash away negative feelings that we harbor against ourselves and lifts the emotions to promote joy and peace. September 1-2, 2020 Full “Barley” Moon

September Full “Barley’ Moon on Sept. 1/2, 2020

Times: 10:22 pm PST/ 11:22 pm MST/ 1:22 am EST

This months moon is called the Barley Moon because it is the time to harvest and thresh the ripe grains. Other crops are also harvested at this time. For example, many of the Native American tribes’ staple foods, such as corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and rice, were ready for harvesting during this month. The strong light of the Harvest Moon allowed European farmers to work late into the night to harvest their crops which is where the name came from. This moon does not always occur in September and traditionally, the name goes to the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, the Harvest Moon sometimes happens in September and sometimes in October.

Other names for this moon are: Chrysanthemum Moon (china), Nut Moon (Cherokee), Mulberry Moon (Choctaw), Singing Moon (Celtic), Corn Moon (Farmers Almanac) and Barley Moon (medieval English), and depending the date of the Sept Full Moon it is sometime referred to as the Harvest Moon.

The September moon will be in Pisces. Intuition, empathy and imagination are our keywords. This dreamy water sign can keep us from seeing things as they are. During this time we will be receiving messages that will help us in both short and long term. Use your intuition wisely and look at things closely so that you don’t “dream” off coarse. Do your best to stay present and focused on what is happening within you and around you.

As Mother Earth begins her journey into the dark part of the year, the sun pulls away and we get that welcome autumn chill. September is a time of hearth and home as well as a time to acknowledge the things that we have accomplished since spring. This full moon is the perfect time to clear away emotional and physical clutter that has been accumulated since Spring. Another activity for Kitchen Witches involves setting up or cleaning up your kitchen or hearth altar for the coming season of introspection.

To get in the autumn mood and celebrate this months element of earth tby wearing browns, greens and other earthy colors.

Sacred Stones: Citrine, Peridot, Bloodstone or other stones that represent the changing leaves.

Sacred Herbs: Grains, Valerian, Witch Hazel

Deities: Hearth Goddesses, Harvest deities, Demeter, Brighid, Vesta, Freya

Full moon blessings!
Cat

January’s Full “Wolf” Moon

9:24 p.m. EDT

Welcome to January, the first month of the new year. On Monday, January 1st we celebrate the Wolf Moon. The Native Americans named this moon the Wolf Moon because during the long dark nights the wolves were hungry and would often howl outside the lodges of the people. Other names for this full moon include the Cold Moon, Winter Moon (Colonial), Holiday Moon (China), Quiet Moon (Celtic), Ice Moon (neo Pagan), Disting Moon, Moon of Little Winter and the Chaste Moon.

This year our January moon is in Cancer.  This may be an emotional time since Cancer deals with things on the emotional level. One of the keys to this moon lies in listening. If you can be a good listener you may learn some things about yourself and your own inner workings as well as helping someone else. We may also feel the need to stay close to home or if we are away from home become homesick. House blessings, comfort foods, comfy pajamas may also be on the docket.  This is also a wonderful time for introspection so don’t be afraid to get to know yourself or your Goddess a little better! This moon is a good time for magical workings involving hearth and home, as well as inner exploration, spiritual advancement and developing closer relations with your chosen deities.

The January moon traditionally honored the Chinese deity Ch’ang-O,  who was the goddess of the bedchamber and the protector of children. Other goddesses for January  include Freya, Inanna, Hera, Sinn and Sarasvati. To honor this moon try wearing the colors white, black and silver and adorning yourself with hematite, garnet, jet, onyx or chrysoprase.

The Full Moon itself offers  powerful energy for rituals of prophecy, divination and protection. Any spell-work that requires extra energy, such as finding a new job or healing serious conditions, is best begun during the full moon. Also for love, gaining sacred knowledge, legal matters, attracting money and prophetic dreams.

Bright Blessings for a Magickal Week!

Cat
